So uh... I've been using photoshop since like 2002? And I just now thought about using it to replicate real media.

I really like the way you do your hatching when you shade.

you should see the http://www.donutplains.net/Nintendo/SuperMarioBros/Enemies/Lakitu.gif I did in the back of my lab notebook! (well I guess you can't unless I scan it...) My notebook is quad-ruled paper, and instead of doing different colors, I did different weights of crosshatching. It's pretty sweet :D
