Well I found this great vid on youtube which details a great way to farm CP, Traps and Gil so I thought I would share it for you guys who want all the achievements (like me ^^)
Adamantoise killed with no Summon/Death spell (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iaEgsQRa30)
As you can clearly see this is an awesome method combine it with mission 63 (Crushed By Doubt) it is the best way to farm everything as the secondary prize for M63 is a Gold Nugget (worth 60k) coupled with the occasional Platinum Ingot and rare Trap this is in my mind the very best way to quickly farm cp/traps/gil.
For those of you who don't know where the mission 63 stone is, its in Sulyya Springs - Subterranean Lake its a purple stone can't be missed, the nearest teleport stone is in Sulyya Springs - Ceiling of Sky.
My quickest time for killing Adamantoise is 2min 30secs... so yea, really easy.

Have you checked this out?: Final Fantasy XIII - Adamantoise Stage 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsVzhw8ybjk)
If not strong enough yet, check out his other Stage-videos. (I also suggest reading the description)
Btw, personally, I think Leviathan Plaza is a better spot. You can respawn the Adamantoise in about a minute by simply saving & loading.

Urrrgh the Death trick works but it's so tedious :(
I wonder if I can just super buff my characters to the point where I can go pew pew you're dead.

If you're in end-game, IIRC, you shouldn't need the Death trick for very long, though you might still need a summon for a while.
With a summon: have your party leader have Com, Rav, and Sab (I used Fang), along with a high +STR weapon and +STR items. Start the battle, and immediately summon. Switch to a Sab/X/X paradigm and put a few debuffs on him, and then switch to Rav/X/X to Stagger, and then Com/X/X to inflict some big damage (Fang's Highwind is excellent for this when the stagger's about to run out). When the summon wears off, just quickly restagger and then go all-out (Com/Com/Rav or Com/Com/Com) to finish it off. Even though it still uses a summon, it's better than the Death trick because you at least are guaranteed a kill.
Pretty soon you should be able to kill them (at least the somewhat weaker Adamantortoises) without summons, by buffing your party at the start and then taking out the legs first (again, Fang's Highwind is great for this by one-shotting staggered legs if her strength is high enough).

Thats quite a slow way to kill them before when I was using the death trick it was never a guaranteed kill as it wouldn't always take (even with improved debuffing II) in my method you don't even need that much of a powerful team and it has never failed me.
Start off with Fang (pl) Hope and Vanille (ai) with the para setup as this: Com Rav Rav attack the first leg with Ruin (as its quicker then running up to his leg and hitting it) for 1 turn, switch to Sen Med Med for a very quick burst of healing after the first turn, if you wait till the Adamantoise lifts his leg then switch it should be instantaneous healing back up to health in the green (thats all you need) then switch back to Com Rav Rav to stagger his leg and once again back to the healing for one quick burst then back to com rav rav attack with highwind and the first leg will be down, follow this procedure for the other leg and he will fall down then once downed switch to Sab Sab Syn the only spell you want to cast as sab is slow as soon as slow takes switch to Syn Sab Syn and buff yourself with Bravera and Haste (if you have the ultimate weapon Kains Lance add a Protect to that equasion) after that Vanille should have inflicted Imperil on him and you can switch back to relentless assault and pummel him till he stands up again which is when you want to use the highwind attack.
If you are strong enough he will be dead and the weaker adamantortoise doesn't even need the highwind attack, he wont even get up, if you find he does get up and has just a sliver of health I would strongly advise you take out his legs again rather then just pummeling him as even my high powered team (only 1 job left to master) deals next to no damage once he stands up.
If you wish to use a summon you could kill him using this method (without the leg attacks) in 1min 8secs (my fastest win).
As apposed to the death trick its considerably faster and as I said before it has never failed me.
