Sony has officially lifted the lid on PlayStation 3 HD revamps of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus during its presentation at the Tokyo Game Show today.

As expected, the games will be packaged together on a single Blu-ray disc under the moniker of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus: The Collection, and will be available for purchase in spring 2011.

In addition, creator Fumito Ueda confirmed that both titles would include 3D support and have been retrofitted for widescreen, and that the version of ICO will be based on the PAL conversion, which features content not found in the U.S. release.

I own copies of both games but this still made me very happy. There aren't nearly enough people in the world who got to play Ico, though thankfully Shadow of the Colossus was much more successful (and had a greatest hits release).

Mixed feelings about this. Classics should be classics just the way they were on release imo. Including graphics.

How much will it cost?

Not sure on the price, but I bet it would be the same as the God of War Collection which was $40.

The graphics will be the same, just with higher resolution textures and increased framerate. And considering how SotC chugged on the PS2, the smooth framerate will probably be pretty nice.
