anyone else think Vivi is wayyyy overrated?

i mean, i love this game, it is my joint favorite along with FFX (ive played VII, VIII, IX, X, XII, and XIII), but i dont get all the hype about Vivi

Garnet, Steiner, and Zidane are probably my 3 favorite FF characters out of all the games. I even liked Eiko more than Vivi. dont get me wrong Vivi was alright (better than Freya, Quina, and Amarant IMO), but yeah...who else thinks Vivi is overrated?

Yeah I think he is a little over rated. He is just a classical black mage to me, nothing more. Freya, Steiner, Eiko, Garnet, Quina all had better abilities. This is just my opinion and no I'm not a kingdom heart/FFVIII fan boy so :P

I dunno why. I think he's adorable and the way he walks reminds me of of my English Bull's walk when she has to take a crap. So cute.

He's got a really good plotline, is charming from beginning to end and brings a lot to FFIX's otherwise half-assed story. He's also a short, stout black mage with bright yellow eyes and a big floppy hat. There is absolutely nothing to not like about him.

I've always liked him, and he is a good addition to the game. He's thoughtful, and he's actually got a likeable personality. I never thought of him as over-rated, but rather as a nice addition to the rest of the cast. I'll admit it. He actually moved me quite a lot the first time I played through the game.

Also, he's cute as a button.

As for Vivi... well Square plainly wanted him to be liked - he's even named after the Final Fantasy Series! :cool:

Vivi was one of the high points I enjoyed from IX. He had an adorable personality and dealt with issues that are very relatable. Definitely not overrated.

Nope again. Just wrapped the game up again, and his highly ratedness is perfect. Think he's one of the best characters in the game and franchise, and he ended up never leaving my party once he became constantly available.

For a character to be overrated, he would have to be rated higher than he deserves. I never rated vivi very highly, or talked to a lot of people who did. So no, I don't think he's overrated.
