I love my new slippers, I love my new hoodie, I love my new undies, I love my new pickle sunflower seeds, I love my new candle, I love my new Ursula cup, I love my new video games, I love my new rain boots, I love my new lemony lotion, I love my new vegan cookbook, I love my new mermaid bookends!

What material things make you happy? Screw minimalism. My slippers are furry on the inside! My toes are not frozen!

Mmmm, sunflower seeds are delicious!

For Christmas, I got a Kindle, a new houndstooth coat, a pair of leather boots and leather flats, a few cardigans, and lots of socks from my parents. From my friends, I got an electric kettle (LOOOOL, best ever) and adorable hair accessories and lots of handmade candles and hand lotions.

I'm so happy!

Material stuff is a distraction at best until you get bored of it and need something new again. Doesn't make me that happy.

It may have been one of the things that set us apart from the Neanderthals

I'm a tech whore and luckily so is my wife. We both enjoy our enormous dual-monitors and awesome computers. We love our 50" TV and all of our consoles hooked up. We love all of the handheld gaming devices. I love my iPod touch. We our Mifi that allows us unfettered internet access anywhere on any of our devices... which reminds me. We love our laptops (however damn many there are floating around).

We love our house and the yard that we take care of (though the tropical plants aren't looking so hot in the winter). I really love my keyboard and even though most of my stress revolves around it, I still love just sitting down and jamming out sometimes. We love all of the various instruments we own (trumpets, clarinets, flutes, a saxophone, a bassoon, a few guitars, etc.)

We like our cameras both still and video (home movies yay!). We also love our new couch and chair we just got. I also love the new cookware I got for Christmas (a nice Calphalon 7 qt. Dutch Oven most of all).

I hate how dilbert doesn't allow searches. XKCD has it, why can't dilbert?

Anyway if we didn't have slave labour my jeans would cost even more. Some people might argue that the increase in work force being in labor (lol) justifies the price increase but to those people I say that I probably don't understand economics.

I have a toolbox filled with so much joy a 50-yo mechanic would be jealous.

Also, an R/C helicopter that can carry nothing, serves no purpose, and I only fly around in my low-ceiling apartment.. because it's awesome.

My dad has become obsessed with RC helicopters in the last few months. He's constantly flying it around the family room, buzzing by our ears or trying to land on our brother's big head. It drives me crazy!

He's looking into putting a tiny camera on it.

I love my new polka dot purse and polka dot PJs and DVDs and my skeleton girl cameo glow-in-the-dark mug and jewelry and books and the other :bou::bou::bou::bou: I just got.

I only got presents that I could pack into my (already heavily-packed) suitcase, but I love them.

Definitely a material girl.

That is because you are fueled by the misery of others. One day, though, you will hear that all we Whos sing anyway, and your heart will grow three sizes that day.

I got this hoodie with built in headphones with an mp3 jack in the pocket.
It's pretty fancy despite it being bright yellow and the headphones are green.
What am I supposed to wear with that?

Things were sorta tight this year (running your own business does that). The family agreed no presents this year. So my father and I teamed up to get my mother a new stereo that houses her ipod inside it and plays memory sticks too. No more cd swapping. It's my mom, right? :p

Hmm

For Christmas we got mom and dad tickets to a show, an iPhone4 for dad, various toys for each other (my brother has a Halo toy that's not available in canada until feb 2011), etc etc

I loooove my new iPad and Sony Nex camera (pay attention guys, micro four thirds cameras are the future of consumer photography) that Del Murder got me for Christmas. An iPad is one of those things that you think, "do I really need one of these things?" And the answer is no, you don't need one, but they're still fucking awesome! Also love my HTC incredible phone and my gorgeous new Junior Drake bag. It's seriously the most luscious bag in the world. Love love love all my pretty happy things!

A brand new car! Love it but the payments are gonna be not so fun. My kid got a bundle of loot she's thrilled over and my wife shares the car with me once she learns how to drive a manual. We should be enjoying these new toys for awhile until they just become regular everyday things around the house.

I love my geek stuff, tech stuff, and Rantzien's virginity (if it can be bought it counts). I'd rather sit at home with all my material crap than go on vacations and see "SIGHTS" and all that.
