Not the game, obviously - the tune.
I don't know what it is, but I just love it. There's something about it that makes me feel emotionally good when I hear it - it's like there's some kind of nostalgia attached to it. It has been in every FF I've played, and probably in ones I haven't played - even if it's just a short clip of it during the credits I feel like it's "part" of the FF series, which it obviously is seeing as it is called "Final Fantasy", it is institutional like the prelude and the victory music. The first time it was played was when "you" cross a bridge in the first game = I wonder if it was called "Final Fantasy" back then, considering it was supposed to be Square's Swan's Song. It is often played close to the beginning, or close to the end of the games.
On a side note: I think the chorus of Wham's "Freedom" (completely different song to George Michael's "Freedom") sounds close to the tune of Final Fantasy, in fact when I first heard it, I was in a restaurant and I remember straining to listen to it, thinking it was an FF song with lyrics. I eventually found out what it was called, and now it's one of my favorite songs. :)
