The TV Show Game! ['90s Edition]

Hello and welcome to the Television Show Game. In a similar vein to Shiny's The Movie Game, you will have 25 pictures from television shows. You must guess these, Mognet Messaging your answers to me, and you will be given a score out of 25. I will give ten days for guessing and then results will be tallied and revealed!

The theme is '90s TV shows. These shows began airing in the 1990s but may have extended into the early '00s. Any complaints about choices can be directed to America who seems to own television. Also not every picture is a still; many are just cast shots because apparently that's how they roll. Hatin'.

[Please note that these types of games will be a regular occurrence and in December a grand champion will be crowned! Your prizes for this future competitions is dependant on what my sexual favours yield from our staff.]

There were a few of those that had me thinking for a good five minutes. One of them I just couldn't remember the name of.

Somebody told me to pick obscure shows nobody had heard of before. There were quite a few Australian-only shows that I considered, briefly, before throwing out. Nobody would have ever gotten those. Ship to Shore, oh my!

Guys I do have to sleep at some point. The earlier you guess, the earlier you get your score.

Wikipedia told me the original airing dates of all of these shows is between January 1 1990 and December 31 1999. You should be able to guess them anyway! :p

To cover up the fact that I didn't read the articles on Wikipedia when I searched for them, I've decided that any mistakes are actually me creating an element of lateral thinking. One of the pictures is apparently of an entirely different TV Show with a completely different nature, but both sharing the same name.

Whatever guys, I'm pretty sure you've all guessed it any way :monster:

Once again, direct your complaints to America and Wikipedia. It would've been so much easier if there were shows I knew. I would only have got maybe 8/25 if I had taken this, so you can see how unfamiliar I am with the subject material.

Keep the guesses coming though! We have a tight competition. I think there's about three points between the top 4 :excited:

No I'm just kidding you. Number Six ran from 1995-96, only one season. It was critically acclaimed but was cancelled. That's pretty much all I know about it :monster: The star's last name was Greenwood (actor, not character).

Three is the next least guessed. It has a long and ridiculous title. I know nothing about it and the few people who have guessed it deserve to win by default. I thought it was never going to be guessed correctly.

Here we go. The big reveal where a champion is crowned! Who had the most comprehensive knowledge of '90s TV Shows to the point where they could immediately spot I had fucked up? WE'LL FIND OUT IN THIS EPISODE.

I'll be revealing the answers one at a time. I don't mind if there's no fanfare between them, and don't expect maths like Shiny gave ya. I'll give you rough estimates fgj.

So first up, we'll start with Number One!

I picked an image that didn't contain any of the main characters because I wanted to fuck with ya :jess: Number One was actually Disney's Recess. I took Recess as an answer because if I'm picky that I get faulted :p

Most of you got that right. Only a few slipped up, and probably because of my prank :D

Next up I will continue numerically because I'm boring like that, we have Stargate SG-1 at Number Two! One of my favourite sci-fi shows growing up, I just had to include it! No Daniel Jackson in the image though, it was too hard to find a good 'un!

About half of you got it right :( You're lucky I didn't pick the image of a couple blurry guys standing in a non-descript corridor!

I'll skip right along to Number TWENTY FIVE now. Didn't see that coming, didja? 25 is none other than 3rd Rock from the Sun! Variations on spelling etc were all accepted. Roughly three-quarters of you got that one!

Number Twenty Four is a strange little cartoon I like to call Aaahh!! Real Monsters! All I remember about this cartoon is it being weird and probably gross. I dunno, but it was cool nonetheless!

I'll go backwards once more, to Number Twenty Three! Now I purposely picked a tough image for this one, because I thought it would be too obvious otherwise! It was Angel to those of you playing at home! My other idea was to get a shot with Buffy in there to completely fuck with you guys :jess:

Coming in at Number Ten is The Magnificent Seven. Never heard of it myself, but then neither had most of you! I thought a full cast line up might help some guys, or at least that amish cowboy fella. What's his deal, anyone?

Next runner up was Mr Blues Agent with a meaty 12/25. Halfway, we'll call it, and as a prize, you get a lovely half glass of water. Whether it's half full or half empty is up to you!

Number Eleven was good ol' Law and Order. Didn't the old guy and the black guy give it away? What do you mean there's one of those in all of them shows? Oh well, better luck next time! (But seriously are all these shows just clones of each other? CSI and L&O need to sit down and discuss this.)

OH WHAT'S THIS A DOUBLE REVEAL? I'm getting lazy because I picked a bad time to reveal and nobody is here. So have Number Twelve too, which just so happens to be (The) King of Queens. I love the old man in that show, especially that one time he started a business with that kid. :monster:

Number Three, ladies and gentlemen, was Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills. Never heard of it? Well neither have I. What the fuck kind of show is it, anyway? I suppose exactly what it says on the tin.

I thought nobody would've heard of it. But three of you had. THREE OF YOU ARE FUCKING CRAZY. No prizes for guessing which three.

Which brings me to our next runner up. Give it up for Levian and his score of 13! Unlucky for some, but our dear Levian has managed to win himself this delightful bear-monkey-thing!

Lucky lucky Four Number Four here we go it's the show known as Two Guys, (and) A Girl (and a Pizza Place). I gave full marks for both answers because really, I was pissed when I heard they killed off the pizza place. That was my favourite character! He was like, dude, I'm a pizza place.

Most of you got that one, which is good. I like to see you young folk taking an interest in television shows. While we're at it, how about another one?

Number Five do a jive let's dance because this show's live! No idea what I'm on about now, but this show is Rocko's Modern Life. I remember he had the worst luck. Poor guy. And those sneakers must be so very old, he wore them everywhere.

I think nearly all of you got that one right, too. So good job on supporting poor ol' Rocko.

Number Six right here. It was a hard one. Between you and me, I'd never heard of it, nor was I sure that image was even of the show. It was tough to find anything on it at all! But a handful of you got it, after I gave you a hint. So good job, folks.

Next up we have Number Seven and The Nanny. Her voice still haunts me. And her outfits. Oh god no make it stop. A lot of you knew it too. Does her voice echo in your head too? :(

By the way, the next show to be revealed is Number Eight, which is Strangers with Candy. This was a submission by none other than Lusty Justy. I'm pretty sure that image is from the '06 movie, but you guys guessed it anyway. And about half of you got it, too, which is pretty impressive!

Number Nine! OH NUMBER NINE. It was Power Rangers, or as it seems to prefer, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Man this show was the tits. We used to be Power Rangers at school and beat up on the giant robots coming to destroy earth. Really they were just fat kids who we didn't like, but it was still awesome.

I jest. I was the one who got bullied. I have severe mental scarring from it. Maybe. That's what my invisible friend reckons anyway.

OH MAN I JUST REMEMBERED. Once I was playing Power Rangers with my cousin and he was like "dude man I need a sword it'll be fucking awesome" so five year old him and five year old me were like "YEAH" until he cut my face with a butter knife. Cut me deep.

Up next we have Number Thirteen and Judge Judy. She lays the beatdown on folks. I used to watch this every afternoon after school and promised I'd never be made to look as dickish as half the people she has on there. It's like, what are you completely mental or just slightly? Some of the claims too, oh man. I'm sure Raistlin would just die.

Our next highest scorer was DMKA! For managing a smooth 18/25, I'm awarding you this shiny rock! If it comes down to it, you can bash the competition in the face and win the next one!

Number Fourteen is JAG. It used to air at 7:30 so 7yo Jiro got to stay up past his 7:30 bedtime so he could watch JAG. It was a pretty cool show, and one of our competitors confessed to have a huge crush on Catherine Bell! I won't say who though :shifty:

Tim the Toolman is in at Number Fifteen with Home Improvement. I used to just watch the intro where the kid is jumping like he's in a game. I like games. Can you tell? But there's also that guy who hides his face. Wilson or Woodrow or something. You know who I mean! One of our players got this one spectacularly wrong but I almost gave him/her points anyway. I mean it was pretty hilarious. (ilu;))

Getting close to the end now, and we have Number Twenty Two! Very few of you got this one right. I thought a cast shot might have helped, but to be fair, I didn't have a clue either! It was, of course, Babylon 5. Apparently a marvellous sci-fi show, so you/we should probably check it out IF INTERESTED :D

We have a tie for our next runners up. Coming in at 19/25 we have both Wolf Kanno and delightful Del Murder! Mad props for turning his game around, old Delly boy. Both of you get to take home this wonderful Kit Kat bar!

Twenty One now, and it's Charmed. Attractive witches is usually a plus as far as things go, so it wasn't too shabby a show. But then it got confusing and I lost interest because people kept dying so I was like w/e trevor. Surprisingly it was only guessed by about half, maybe three quarters of you. I thought it would've been better known for some reason.

Let's look at Twenty. Oh Twenty. The image has nothing to do with the show I was meant to be looking for. But do you know what? Everybody got it. I'm pretty sure even lovely Rantzien got it and it probably never aired in poor Sweden. So well done it was all a trick and Twenty was of course The Closer. The image contains a much better program than the other one, trust me.

Number Nineteen here we are and he is Dawson's Creek. My ma watched this once upon a time. I have no idea if it's any good. I bet they got into all sorts of teenage drama llama. But a fair few of you guessed it, so it mustn't have been too bad after all!

Our next runner up is Remon! Scoring an impressive 21/25 (thank you for picking up my miscalc. too btw), Remon will be taking home this lovely gold watch valued at something ridiculous! It's worth so much you'll hide it away rather than risk scratching the bastard of a thing!

Number Sixteen is, as many of you weren't aware, Highlander. Now some people guessed The Raven and I have no idea whether or not you're more correct, but I guess you are so give yourselves a demeaning pat on the back. Good job :) My favourite answer by far was Del's Siamese Triplets Show. Oh you :p

We have another tie! You guys are painful, goddamn having to find nice prizes for you all. Both Shiny and fire_of_avalon scored 22/25, so very nearly max points. As a prize, you guys can share this crappy little trophy nobody really cares about.

On a sidenote, we have cable in Sweden too, and we're not completely cut off from the rest of the world. I just haven't been much for TV shows until pretty recently :p

Oh Seventeen you bother. I knew you weren't a '90s show but I just couldn't be assed finding another one. Besides, there was a sequel to everybody's favourite Get Smart where Maxwell Smart's kid is the star and gets into even more of a mess while Smart heads up CONTROL. But would anyone have recognised that? No. So '60s slipped in. A 6 and a 9 look the same you know.

The very last show, Number Eighteen. We all know and love The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped turned upside down so if you'd like to take a minute just sit right there and I'll tell ya'll the story bout how I became the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. From memory so lay off alright geez :colbert:

But there's still a winner to be announced?! WHO WON?! Well, nobody did. Because three motherfuckers decided to tie it all up. So Bunny, NorthernChaosGod and Guardian XIII have got like, a day and a bit to get their asses in here and guess my three bonus questions.

The second show was one that I thought nobody would get. Once again I even picked none main characters to try and throw you off the scent. WHEN I TRY AND SCREW YOU OVER, YOU GUYS JUST COME BACK STRONGER. I swear they are all mental. Somebody needs to put these three into rehab, as they all got it right! It was, of course, The Worst Witch.

Which brings us to the first show, and that is a very special one to Australians. It is Skippy: Adventures in Bushtown, the animated sequel to popular television show Skippy the Bush Kangaroo. It's mother fuckin Skippy, bitches.

In SECOND PLACE, with a mighty 3/3 effort, we have lovable BUN BUN Bunny! He stole second place off Guardian XIII by a mere 9 seconds!! But it just wasn't enough to take top spot.
