How many American people have seen The King's Speech? Well considering it's made over $100 million in the USA and is still going strong, I'd say quite a few. And its getting most of the big awards from people who actually vote for the Oscars (especially actors, it won the SAG award).

And Sorkin's award will be probably the most deserved of the night.

Toy Story 3 deserves Best Animated Feature though. I hope it wins. I never saw How to Train Your Dragon because all the character including the dragons looked hideous to me. :D

How To Train Your Dragon was awesome, but I think it was a much easier film to do than Toy Story 3. One of the most impressive things about Toy Story 3 was just how perfectly this final film finished the story that began 2 films and 15 years ago.

It's one thing to make a funny, touching, adventurous film. It's another thing to do all those things AND be one of the most cohesive, poignant and pitch-perfect ending to a movie series, ever. Toy Story and Toy Story 2 = great animated movies. But Toy Story + Toy Story 2 + Toy Story 3 combined makes for one of the best film trilogies of all time. Lord of the Rings is still my favorite trilogy, but it had it's bad total "wtf?" moments whereas the Toy Story trilogy has been consistently amazing from start to finish. How many film series can say that?

Great nominees. I think The Social Network is slightly overatted, and do truly think Black Swan will be known as one of the great Psychological Horror Films in due time. I think it was that good.

Let me start by saying I have never watched the Oscars ever. This is the only year that I've actually watched a few recap clips online and then I just look at IMdb for the winners. So, my opinion will be a bit different after actually seeing it. So, it looked okay, and I don't have very much complaints about what got chosen. I've only have three huge upsets and they were:

Randy Newman winning Best Original Score though not surprising, still disappointing.
Nolan not winning for Best Original Screenplay. You've gotta be kidding me....I don't even. Oscars always snubbing Nolan.
David Fincher getting snubbed. He's made Fight Club, Panic Room, Se7ven. Tom Hooper has made The King's Speech and...I have no idea what else. Plus, he's British. And to be frank, most British films suck. Let's be honest.

Biggest yays:
James Franco in a dress. I dunno why.
Alec Baldwin. Nuff said.
Bale, Portman, and Leo winning their much deserved awards. I haven't seen the King's Speech because it looks like a boring old people film (perfect for an Oscar win) so I don't give a smurf about Firth. He was good in A Single Man though which was also kinda boring.

Biggest surprise:
Tom Hooper winning Best Director over Fincher. Even though best director and best film often coincide at the Oscars as it did last year, this is still a huge shock. I can't remember the last time Americans liked a British film so much until now.
