View Full Version : Perception of Perfection

Why is it that, when you think of the "perfect strawberry," you think of a strawberry in a heart shape? Like, it doesn't even have to be big, it's all about aesthetics. Why wouldn't the perfection of a strawberry be measured by its size? Like, a strawberry should be considered more beautiful and perfect the more ripples it has.

Which of these is closer to being the perfect strawberry?

The problem is that the second strawberry looks like a nut sack.

You can't unsee it!

That bottom one is a mutant that wants to eat my family.

The second one is preferred because it's large, and a large strawberry has more to enjoy! :D It has the right coloring, so it looks good to eat.

I always knew you had a freaky-looking nutsack, but damn.

Also, they're probably heart shaped because they were created specifically to make an unhappy couple make-up. (http://www.powersource.com/cocinc/articles/strwbry.htm)

The second one looks like the retarded baby of a strawberry and a tomato. Or something like that.

The second one reminds me of a chewed up piece of gum.

The second one looks like it better fits a mouth.

Ballsacks aside, the second strawberry is the better strawberry, and the first is the quintessential strawberry.

well that's an easy question: it's been typified as an image in our media and culture, which has intensified an arbitrary value of "perfection"

next?~

[edit- a good example of what I mean by being typified is this very posticon!]

I don't judge a strawberry by its size or shape, I judge it by how sweet and juicy it is. I have, on occasion, eaten perfectly shaped strawberries that were sour and eaten malformed strawberries that were so good they melted in my mouth. Strawberries are all about taste!

bigger is not always better. I have a picture of a giant lobstar, but it tasted terrible.

Smaller lobsters taste better.

The strawbee on the left is more perfect than the second one. Mostly because it developed properly while the other one probably consumed it strawbee brethren in a desperate race to be super duper big and probably not juicy or yummy.

yuck.

There is no ballsacks aside, there is only superior and inferior, and the ballsack strawberry is inferior

There is no ballsacks aside

:D

Fine then, if strawberries were checkers, then a 'ballsack' strawberry would be the king of strawberrys, which it is.

I like the second one better but i dont think Im one to judge since I also like my strawberries a little after the ripe stage when theyve gone a bit soft

It says a lot about humanity that the ballsack strawberry is more popular.

Bigger strawberries are often more watery and have less taste!

I'm not a big fan of eating strawberries, but sometimes I like having them. During those times, nothing annoys me more than a small strawberry. I want to be able to eat more than that without having to move on to the next one! So for me, the second one is freakin' glorious.

The first one is best for when you need a strawberry for decoration. The second is perfect for a snack. :quina:

I'd go with the first one. I normally don't eat strawberries, and odds are they're priced by weight and not per berry. There's no real benefit with choosing the larger one, so I see no reason not to go with the one that would look better for decorating a cake or something.

First one looks like a swollen nipple and the second one like mentioned, some funny looking nutsack?

I will choose the first one cause my mouth isn't big enough to fit the second in at one go.

you could give it a try!

I got an image to take care of! I won't be receiving flowers and gifts if I try to stuff an oversized strawberry into my mouth infront of a crowd will I?

EDIT: I once stuffed a whole watermelon into my mouth when no one is looking! :shifty:

i love strawberries like the second one. I think they taste better.

I like my strawberries to have a darker color, I think they're sweeter that way.http://www.worldofstock.com/slides/PFO5880.jpg
