Elisabeth Sladen (http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/dw/news/bulletin_110419_01/Elisabeth_Sladen) of BBC TV's Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures passed away today after a battle with cancer at 63.

This gives a death to another legend of Doctor Who history, after Nicholas Courtney, who played Bridagier Lethbridge-Steward passed away in February also of Cancer. It also leaves unknown information of what was put together of the next series of Sarah Jane Adventures before Lis' passing.

That news came completely out the blue this morning - a thoroughly unwelcome surprise. 63 is entirely too young, especially for someone whose career and energy have made such a resurgence. May she rest in peace.

Is it just me, or do more tv/movie/music stars seem to be dying this year than usual? We're only in April and I've already heard of about 20.
