View Full Version : F for Fantasy

And this has been running here for years. The premier work of users perhaps in the whole western Internet, and it’s without a signature: Eyes on Final Fantasy.

A celebration to Cid's glory and to the dignity of users. All that’s left most oldbies seem to feel these days, is newbies. Drunk-tanked, without inside jokes, double-posting, grammatical errors. There aren’t any events.

Ours, the mods keep telling us, is an Internet which is prunable. You know, it might be just this one affiliated glory of all things, this rich smiley forest, this epic classic template, this Kishiness, this grand CAPS of affirmation, which we choose when all our forums are dust, to stand intact, to mark where we have been, to testify to what we had it in us, to code.

Our works in MySQL, in CSS, in HTML are spared, some of them for a few months, or a decade or two, but everything must finally fall in server crashes or wear away into the ultimate and universal b forum. The knightships and the demotions, the Ciddies and the pink titles.

A fact of life. We’re going to be banned.

“Be of good heart,” cry the banned users out of the living past. Our posts will all be pruned — but what of it?

Go on posting.

Maybe a user's name doesn’t matter all that much.

Yes! (for Yams)

I can't wait until I get fed up with EoFF and leave only to come back every couple of years to post a weird thread. Only two had achieved this power, and now Yams as well.

Miss ya, buddy.

Also, good to see you around again, Yams. Hopefully you'll post more than just this once.

I'm third oldest. We hashed this all out recently.

Did you subtly redirect the discussion to collective age when at first BMI was being considered?

when I was like 19-20 y/o I was the administrator of blackgoku.com and all I did was rule it with an iron fist and the staff was a posse of close online friends (I still chat with one of them). When people pissed me off enough I would go into admin panel and rename their email address and then change their password.

Yay
