Hey everyone! I know this thread is over a month premature, but I must say, I'm pumped! If they follow the book like they ought to, this is promising to be one helluva season :D I saw a screenshot that promises one major storyline will be followed, great news for Eric x Sookie fans! I've recently purchased seasons 1 and 2 on DVD and pre-ordered season 3, which should get here around the time season 4 finally premiers! *fingers crossed* I'm hoping I'll be able to get my memory refreshed in time for the next season.

What are your hopes for the upcoming season?

I'm looking forward to this. I'm glad something will be there after my GoT fix get stripped away by it's season finale. Those winter months are what kill me, nothing ever on tv then.

it's because these days no one has time during spring, summer and fall to watch tv so they tivo it and wait till winter to watch it all, or netflix.

I'm all for sex and blood, but last season crossed some lines for me. They'd better make it up to me this season.

I hope Sookie isn't such a dumb airhead this season. I hope they lower the cheeseball factor (dancing fairies? Seriously?) and yeah, no fucked up sex scenes please.

Mostly excited to see Eric replace Bill as the #1 love interest for the show. I'm not sure how faithful they'll keep to the books since in the books, Bill becomes almost non-existent but I really really doubt they're going to do that on the show.

I thought about making a new thread but I remember this one and it had not yet moved on to the next page so REVIVE!

Mmmm eric. And Tara is a total lesbo! Hot lesbian action? Yes please! The fairy thing seems kinda meh but I like the whole "a year has passed" thing. The witch thing should be....... interesting...

Unimpressive imho.

Stuff I didn't like:

The faerie stuff was still unbelievably cheesy.
I hate how they're making Eric so smurfing creepy. Can they not? Seriously. at this point, Eric is supposed to be set up as the main love interest, but the show continues to try and make Bill the sympathetic one. Is it cause Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer are married? I feel like they've been super reluctant to really get into all the Eric/Sookie stuff. And instead of making Eric the main love interest, they're making him the guy who most wants to control and get all rapey with Sookie.
Bill being King? Ridiculous. Ugh.
Tara being a lesbian. Cliche much?
Still not diggin' Lafayette's boyfriend or his whole YOU HAVE MAGIC OMG!!! deal.
Hotshot. Always hated the hotshot stuff both on the show and in the books.
Aunt Petunia as the main Witch lady. Whole thing was creepy, which I guess was the point, but it was unpleasant to watch.

Stuff I liked:

Arlene and her over-the-top reaction to her baby. LMAO.
Andy being hilarious
Tara's lip NOT quivering. And her new girlfriend is way hot.
Eric in his super tight shirt showing off his insane upper body.
Pam and Nan and everything they do.

Stuff that was meh:

Sam and his it's an orgy! Wait no, we're going to be horsies! Therapy group.
Jessica & Hoyt's relationship being in trouble.

I'm downloading episode 2 right now, so hopefully it gets better.

The fairy stuff at the beginning... even the music was killing me. Sookie's grandpa seemed to take it really well that he'd missed his entire life. And it wasn't long before I was ready to kill Sookie again. Your grandpa misses twenty years of his life, thinking that it's only been a few hours, and when you get back you just cannot figure out that more than a small amount of time has passed? Seriously, Sookie?

The rest was meh.

Last season was decline, this season is rock bottom... May not watch after that premiere.

The 2nd episode is much more solid than the premiere. But still, it doesn't really feel like True Blood. It's like it's lost all it's pizazz.

I agree with Miriel, especially regarding the faeries and Bill. How the fuck can Bill be King? Doesn't the King need to, y'know, have power? Why has every vampire, many of whom (including Eric) could kick his ass all over the place, randomly decided to bow to him?

I was bored during parts of the premier. It was that meh.

I've watched this to episode 5 now. Things are interesting, but I have to say that I still don't like Jason's arc with the panthers, but they did end it well to make me wonder what's going to happen next.
