View Full Version : I'm thinking of a word, it starts with S, ends with X, and has an E in the middle.

You pervert you, the answer is Square Enix.

Who else thought this entire room was anoying and pointless?

I love the developers room. It was a neat Easter egg, like the developer room ending in Chrono Trigger or the Chun Li cameo in Breath of Fire.

I kind of wish more developers did stuff like this cause its amusing to hear their thoughts.

it irritated me because it kept glitching and locking the game

Never had that issue, so you're angry cause your game is broken?

The Developers' Room was great, I loved the comedy of it and games that can step outside themselves like FFIV does is very cool.

Ruining the joke: Of course they were Squaresoft back then.

Also, I love that room, I really don't get why some versions deleted the entire room because of the porn book, couldn't they have just deleted the book, or made it something else (like how in FFVI Cyan had a "Book of Secrets" - which made it sound like it was more important to the game than it was, I admit.) I thought it was pretty cool, especially as back then I had a dream of making my own videogames, which is a dream I've pretty much abandoned, even though I still type out the storylines sometimes.

Also, what was up with that one battle, where the music gets really dramatic and she's all like; "Go away!" or whatever? Was that an in joke among Square or something?

My first thought regarding the removal of the Developer's Room is that they were attempting to create a very linear and simple game experience. The Developer's Room might have confused the simple-minded gamer that they imagined.
