How good is yours?

Mine is actually really freaking accurate. I just take care not to go around outing people. :) I used to think it was broken but then it just turns out people weren't being honest!

PING PING PING

Well, something is going off.

Mine's damn good, too. I've called it multiple times, I do say!

Mine's iffy yet not unreliable.

Mine is scary good.

It's kind of ridiculous. And I'm not talking about the Ricky Martins of the world, that's just way too easy. But I've had my gaydar ping on people who I'm sure most people don't realize are gay. Sometimes it takes months or years to find out if I was right, or sometimes it just takes a quick google search (like in the case of some college professors/guest lecturers).

I think it has something to do with the fact that I'm hyper aware of people's ticks and mannerisms. It's sort of an OCD thing about me.

I'm still not convinced Neil Patrick Harris is gay, I don't care how many Tony awards he hosts.

Pfeh. Right.

For some reason, my Gaydar is much more attuned when it comes to guys (mainly because I AM BEING HIT ON!) than when it comes to women. Except for the obvious stereotypes, I can hardly ever tell if a woman is a lesbian.

I dunno, but this thread sets it off like crazy.

It's not too bad. I have a theory that Simon Cowell, one of my ginger mates, and my dog are all gay.

So far mine's been 100% accurate. It's pretty awesome.

For the most part, way off unless the person emits gaydiation.

I don't think I have one.

I dunno, I tend to not pay very close attention to anything.

Gaydar is a myth. Created by Gay people who think every guy fanies them.

Mirage

My gaydar is pretty insensitive, and only picks up individuals that send out a lot of gaydiation.

As for women, it doesn't work at all, because apparently these days girls can do *anything* to another girl without being gay.

I'm too self-centered to have psychic powers that tell me about strangers' sex lives.

I think mine is pretty good. At least I like to think it is.

>That feel when you're talking to a guy in the pub and he makes a reference to his boyfriend and you laugh thinking it is a joke then you realise it isn't and he's giving you a weird look

>That feel when you subsequently delete his number from your phonebook

I don't really tend to notice or care, really. At university, I found most people were quite liberal about this sort of thing and so if I didn't pick up on it, I'm sure I'd find out some other way.

Mirage

I find it's often not too hard to notice that a guy isn't interested in the same gender as I am, that's usually how I notice. Or think I notice, anyway.

I always found it pretty obvious when someone is gay, even of its a case where they try their hardest to hide it. I think anyone would be able to pick up on these symptoms such as myself. They might try hide it in the way they act and express themselves, but it generally shows through eventually, at least to my knowledge.

Yeah completely didn't ring on my gaydar and still doesn't!

My gaydar is only good when the person is a complete stereotype. Like a flamboyantly gay male or a very masculine tomboy lesbian. The only times I have ever been able to figure out someone was gay without them being obvious is when I looked at my friend's iTunes and mostly everything was showtunes and Olivia Newton John.

Symptoms? Homosexuality isn't a disease, mang.

Only those bloody jews and blacks.

I don't really have a gaydar. Instead, I just whip my cock out and if they suck it, they're probably gay.

Because that is definitely what gay people are like.

What? I never insinuated that it was.

You clearly stated that homosexuals were a blight on the land, and you requested any nearby Grey Wardens take care of it in the most brutal and disrespectful manner possible. No point denying it; it says it right there.

Levian
07-19-2011, 07:46 PM
Unless they make it obvious themselves, through altered appearance or flamboyant behaviour, I wouldn't have a clue.

Lesbians are easier to spot, I think. I'm talking about actual lesbians here though, not girls who kiss at parties for attention or "lesbians" in porn. For some reason they just tend to live more up to the stereotype than homosexuals, in general.

I was at gay pride at a gay bar and a gay guy was asking me if it was possible to know if somebody was the gay

so I asked him if I was gay.

And I won't tell you what he said because I only remember that I said the 'F word' and got thrown out.

NorthernChaosGod

I have blackdar. I can tell someone is black just by looking at them. Gaydar however, I never assume such things.

Rantz
07-20-2011, 05:42 PM
See, I'm the opposite. When I see a coloured man I'm like "He looks black, but... is he really?" I can't be sure until I've rubbed their skin with a saliva-covered thumb.

You're Asian, be Asian and remember. Or get told by a friend, unless you were out alone like an alcoholic.

We Asians have good memories? I don't think I ever got that memo. Or if I did, I forgot

Allright, let's test them gaydars then!

I'm a person who's posted in this thread, and I'm gay. No, I'm not Laddy.

Send me a PM with who you think I am, and if you guess correctly on your first try, I'll let you know if you are correct or not.

Yar
07-20-2011, 11:24 PM
That's not how gaydar works.

If you wanted to test gaydar you would have someone post with an anonymous account and then people would have to guess their orientation!

Not going to make any guesses public, so no harm should be done there. Just having a bit of fun here.

It doesn't really work in the first place, does it?

Mirage

Yeah, text really conveys body language and all that extremely well.

Iceglow
07-21-2011, 09:29 AM
I can generally tell if a guy or girl is fully gay pretty easily, I've only had one recent exception to that where I was confused for a while and she is a very girly girl not like any of the other lesbians I work with so finding out she was actually gay was a bit like "oh wow, kinda did not expect that!"

Bastian

The 'Dar is strong in me: I can easilly tell if anyone has any gayness, usually. Because even "masculine" gays are obvious, usually. On the few rare occasions I thought for sure someone was gay and was told by someone else they weren't... let's just say it turned out they weren't exactly straight. :P

Except... there's this one guy who is a friend of some friends and he comes off slightly gay and is into musicials and stuff... but he's never admitted to being bi or anything and now has a wife. Hmph. He's probably bi.
