I joined the "Qu's Kitchen" group...but noticed that the threads hadn't been posted in since 2010 and I didn't want to revive it in case people got mad. If there's any interest...how about people post pics of their yummy homemade food pictures in here? We can ask for suggestions, offer each other advice, comment on plating, etc. I can toss in a couple to start:

2. Lamb chops with rosemary mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus

For the 4th of July, my lovers and I, along with some friends, made the most ridiculously amazing creation on earth. It's called the one-upmanship cookie. It's created by taking double stuffed oreos, covering them in melted chocolate, and then surrounded them by chocolate chip cookie dough. Then you place them in a brownie tin with the ingredients to make a brownie, until it just becomes this giant coagulated delicious cookie-brownie fusion. It is... amazing. Enjoy some photos:

Broccolini with prosciutto, mushrooms and fried egg topped with parmesan and lemon zest.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v516/hannahgoesrawr/broccolini.jpg
15 minutes to make, and it's insanely good.

Crunch Roll: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v516/hannahgoesrawr/crunchroll.jpg
Takes forever to make, quite possibly not worth it to make sushi at home.

Chicken Piccata: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v516/hannahgoesrawr/chickenpiccata-1.jpg
One of my favorite dishes ever.

Scallops with angel hair pasta in butter sauce: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v516/hannahgoesrawr/IMG_2717.jpg

Scallops. Seriously, mothersmurfing scallops. <3

My special "Roman" burger: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v516/hannahgoesrawr/romanburger.jpg
The best burger you will ever eat. Secret is sundried tomatoes mixed into the meat.

French toast with apple compote: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v516/hannahgoesrawr/birthdaybreakfast-1.jpg

Quick and easy. Takes only like 10 minutes to whip up.

Perfect tomato sauce pasta: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v516/hannahgoesrawr/perfectpastasauce.jpg
Recipe from Bon Appetit magazine. It billed itself as the "the simplest, silkiest sauce you’ll ever make." It totally was.

Tonkatsu: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v516/hannahgoesrawr/tonkatsu.jpg
I don't eat a lot of pork, but Boyfriend requests it, I make it. I am an awesome girlfriend.

Del Murder and I are making chili (my epic recipe) and cornbread (foa's grandma's secret recipe) later today. Will post pictures if I get the chance.

Mmmm I love scallops! I've been planning on picking up some scallops on my next Costco run. I'll definitely have to pick up some angel hair now too. I'm thinking of using a simple olive oil and garlic sauce...maybe a bit of lemon and ginger.

I LOVE proscuitto too (I will admit, I'll eat it straight out of the package by itself :O_O:) I make fried eggs often too, so I'll have to attempt your broccolini with prosciutto, mushrooms and fried egg topped with parmesan and lemon zest.

I think I have a food boner right now.

Haha Araciel...I typically just throw food on a plate (since I grew up eating family style and that's what my boyfriend and I have been doing too), so I don't usually present a single pretty looking plate. But when I get into my Food Network phases...I feel like a slacker so I'll throw food together to take pics of

Miriel, do you have a dslr? My pictures (and food for that matter) look so inferior!

2. Leek with bacon and shiitake mushrooms

I'm my family's designated chef.

I recently crafted a Penne pasta in a garlic butter and parmesean sauce with grilled chicken, broccoli, and mushrooms. It was delectable and I cook it upon request.

I make excellent burgers. I essentially use a large amount of provolone and swiss cheese and red onion complete with a bit of red pepper. It's heavenly.

Soon I hope to work on a new steak recipe. Any suggestions?

I haven't made steak in awhile since we have a Juliet balcony that isn't wide enough to have a grill :-/ Last time I tried to just broil the steak and we found out that our fire alarm is apparently too sensitive so we're not doing that again :eep:

If it's a good cut of steak, usually a dry rub is all you need. If you want to do a marinade, you could always try it with olive oil, red wine, garlic, coarse salt, fresh ground black pepper, and thyme/oregano/rosemary if you want...and I'm asian so I like to marinade everything in soy sauce :-P

Also, I LOVE chimichurri sauce but have never made it myself. You could try this: ‪Food Wishes Recipes - Chimichurri Sauce Recipe - How to Make Chimichurri‬‏ - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsj_dzz33Ko)

And this is the steak I broiled...perfectly medium rare on the inside and really yummy but the fire alarm was not happy lol.

Which one? If you try making chimichurri, I demand that you report back with pictures and let me know how hard it was to make so I can decide if I want to try too :-P

Del Murder made the cornbread recipe that foa gave him. It turned out really well!

Nearly fell over sideways over the fact that Del Murder cooked something from scratch! Wowza.

I didn't actually make these, I nicked them off my gf's facebook. Thought you'd appreciate it though, especially if you're dieting and craving chocolate.

Mmm chocolate...are those kinda smores-like with marshmallow in-between? Or is that frosting?

And I'm not a huge fan of sweets...I'm never "dieting", but I generally try to stay healthy with my food choices. My weaknesses are cheese, prosciutto, salami, wine, beer, and anything with garlic.

Wing, throw a wet wash cloth over your alarm. Unless it's one of those ceiling types. Then you'll need to pin it up, I guess? That's what we do because ours is mega sensitive too.

Genius! I will have to try that if we ever broil steak again. I hear the fire alarm in units down the hall from time to time, so I imagine most people in this condo have similar issues.

But right now, I cannot think of ever eating again. :O_O: My boyfriend and I just went to this 10-course tasting menu at Graham Elliot (http://www.grahamelliot.com/ge.php) and we are STUFFED. I took so many pictures like a typical asian because the plating was beautiful and the food was soooooo good...but by the 8th dish I felt like I was going to explode!

I make a pretty good stuffed pepper, I'll have to snap pics next time.

Basically you bring some boneless skinless chicken breasts to a boil until cooked.

You then place them in a food processor with yellow curry, bay leaves, and some mangos or mango juice concentrate. I've also found mango concentrate in gel bar form. It all works.

Blend it all together into a puree.

Take some raw cashews and lightly roast them in a pan or in the oven.

Stuff the pepper with the chicken/mango puree, the toasted cashews, and some golden raisins.

Put the tops back on the peppers and cook them in the oven at around 300 until the skin browns a little around the edges. During the last five minutes or so, pull the tops and place a little brie cheese on them. Replace the tops. After five minutes you should be ready for dinner.

I get request for it, so I guess it cant be terrible.

More pics! (omg the huge pics are driving me crazy...keep having to repost...)

1. Roasted garlic bulb with olive oil and a bit of salt...delicious! So soft it just melts in your mouth! (A must-try for garlic-lovers! You can spread it on bread too!)
2. Marinated & oven roasted chicken wings (not a very good picture; the chicken wasn't that dark in person...)

3. Sauteed green beans with garlic and soy sauce
4. Squid with XO sauce...yum!
