Everyone loves a good muffin, and I mean everyone. Some will argue that they don't but they don't qualify because they don't have a soul.
What are your favorite flavors? What's the best muffin you've ever had?
Do you enjoy making muffins? Post pictures of those delicious treats on the thread if you want!

Steamed rice muffins/cakes!

They are spongy, fluffy, warm and they melt in your mouth! I usually make them without sugar, and use artificial sweeteners instead. Some are made with melting cheese on top, although not ideal if you prefer a healthy alternative to muffins. :jess:

I can't eat those without giggling, being Mexican and that word having a completely different meaning in Spanish.

Blueberry FTW.

In my young adventurous days a friend and I decided to once again alter our minds in my basement with a lot of magic stuff. We then became hungry so we went up to my kitchen to see what was up. There wasn't anything that looked really good but then we checked out my cabinets again and found some muffin mixes. One was like real mix where you add eggs and milk and stuff but the other was a just add water kind. We fixed them up seperately and while they baked in the oven the two of us died laughing. We seemed to think it was really funny that my neighbor had no idea the two of us were high making muffins in my kitchen while she cut her grass outside. Then the muffins were done! The just add water ones were horrible so we didn't do more than try them, but at the time the other ones were fucking delicious. Other than that, I am soulless.

You have a small sliver of a soul. You aren't hopeless at least.

This thread is now about REAL muffins, none of that sugary sponge crap.

Pic related, it's a food of a much higher class

I like to go to My Favorite Muffin and get a ton of tiny minimuffins to chomp on. I also like to get tuna bagel sandwiches. I know those aren't muffins, but I get them at a good muffin place so I thought I would bring it up.

I love that place oh so much. It's way too long of a drive to go up to the nearest one where I live though so that's a shame. I miss that place...

Then what do they call crumpets?

On topic, I don't have much of a sweet tooth, so cheese and bacon savoury muffins are easily my favouite.

Ah, but the differences are marginal at best. According to The Joy of Cooking, to make crumpets you use the English Muffin recipe but substitute milk for the water and use less flour. Basically, the English Muffin is an Americanized Crumpet, go Thomas (http://www.thomasenglishmuffins.com/Our-Products/English-Muffins/Default.aspx)! :hello:

I remain disappointed at the lack of Poppy Seed Muffin representation in this thread.
