So I beat this game back in like 2001 and figured I was well overdue for another play-through. This time I'm shooting for 100% completion. Maxing everything all secrets etc.
Im 12 hours in and at fort condour .. which is pretty bad because its taken me a LONG time just to start getting enemy skills. I can tell that will be the most time consuming. Preparing myself for an easy 150+ hours
Clouds level 18. Closest behind him is red @ 17. rest are 15+
I beat midgar zolom twice before hitting the mythril mine. When I did learn Beta I died afterwards :-/ And since I spent about a good 30-40 minutes trying to get it I figure I would come back for it:redface:

You can get Yuffie in the forest near Fort Condor.

Be prepared for the battle arena. That's where you'll be spending a lot of your time.

I believe you can get Yuffie early on...but the percentage of encountering her is lower (you'll have to check a guide for the specifics, but that's what I remember).

Enemy Skills are not that time consuming to get actually, the big thing is to wait until Cait Sith joins so you can get a Manipulation Materia which will make the task really easy. The main issue will mostly be having to wait until you get access to transportation that get you to the monsters that have the skills.
The other issue is deciding whether you want to have four max out Enemy Skill Materia or just settle for two or three that have everything. If you want all four to have every spell, you'll have to wait until the Second Disc to do Yuffie's sidequest in Wutai to get her Level 4 Limit Break and the Leviathan materia, cause there are only a handful of bosses that use the skill Trine, and the fourth Enemy Skill Materia isn't available until you get the Highwind and access to the Chocobo Sage's house, which will be long past the first boss who uses Trine.
The other two "tricky" enemy skills to get are Chocobuckle and ????, Chocobuckle is a guide dang it (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GuideDangIt), you need to learn the Lv. 4 Suicide Enemy Skill and use it on a wild chocobo you encounter, if it lands, the chocobo will use this skill. The ???? skill can't be obtained through the Manipulation skill and so you have to wait around for the enemy Jersey, to finally use the skill on you.The problem here is that he's an uncommon enemy encounter in the Shinra Mansion, and he changes his defenses based on your action, he's either in magic mode or melee mode, the problem is that their is a glitch in the game, he starts in magic mode (where he'll use the skill) but striking him with a physical blow will make him go into melee mode where he won't use the skill, but the glitch is that you can't change him back into magic mode, he'll stay in melee mode permanently, so you'll have to wait until he uses the skill before striking... The other chance is to fight a Behemoth in Midgard during the end of Disc 2 and using Flare on it so it counters with both Flare and ????.
The really annoying thing about both skills is that they are useless. :eep:
