I love words! Words are pretty great. I used to fancy myself a wordsmith, but that is, unfortunately, a skill you lose pretty quickly when you stop using it.

But I love to research words and apparently Rantzien shares this love and as such has an IRC script all about words. You just use the !words command and it'll give you a word! Alternatively you can use !word [example] and it will give you the definition for the sample word.

This is how I learned about the word houghmagandy.

Houghmagandy is, officially, my new favorite word. For me, houghmagandy is better than houghmagandy.

If you want to know the meaning to houghmagandy, don't you dare post it in this thread. You go to chat and find out. Don't you dare. Don't you dare. What are some of your favorite words?

What is this trickery! One of my favourite words is syzygy, purely for the lack of vowels. It was one of the words I had to learn for a spelling bee or something a long time ago and it has haunted me ever since.

One of the annoying things about trying to find uncommon words for my guessing games is that all the best ones are about rocks and minerals

Oh foa, you're dirty. ;)

I somehow know lots of words but I don't remember them. So i'll say or type them and then just stare at my screen at what I typed. Then I check it's meaning and it fits and is totally correct with what I wrote but I have no idea where I learned these words and why I can't remember them.

I have a "Words" folder in my Firefox bookmarks where I dump sexy words.

A few selections from the folder include: blatherskite, billingsgate, lachrymose, hypocorism, infelicitous, congruent, and terraqueous.

I like my Words folder. :3

P.S.: Oh, the houghmagandy!

It is really freaking cold in my office and breakroom. Some houghmagandy would probably warm me right up!

I like squalorous.
It isn't a real word, but I use it to exemplify something of somewhere that is excessively squalorful.

Also Liquacious, not to be confused with loquacious, liquacious is another meaningless word that I use to exemplify excessive liquidlikeness.

Do names count? I'm at the airport on my way to Boise and I can't stop saying Boise. Boise, Boise, Boise!

Sometimes it disappoints me that Boise is not in New Joisey.

What's wrong with rock and mineral names? Some of them are actually pretty gneiss :p

I know this seems like a dirty theme here, but I also really love the words provocative and evocative, but purely for the way they sound.

My favorite word is actually "clockwork"

I am 100% not biased despite what Huxley may tell you

Wait, why would you be biased? Being a robot?

Because I have a folder called "Watch Porn" which is dedicated to glorious hi-res closeups of watch and clock movements and mechanisms

(Which is probably because I am a robot.)

There is a clock in my house and you can see the little cogs going around and I like to stare at it sometimes.
