I have no one to talk about Survivor with. So would someone like to give it a shot and watch it with me?

Survivor is actually a pretty damn smart show if the contestant are good, and considering the cast this season seems genuinely interesting, it should turn out good.

Early Favorites: Sophie, Mark, John, Keith, Semhar, Dawn, and Kristine.

I thought this thread indicated that you were going to be ON survivor.

I watch the show. It's good. It's not airing right now though, is it? We have to wait until fall.

I didn't like Redemption Island as a concept and I don't like that they brought it back. Voted out should be gone for good. I did like last season in general though, since it was basically Rob single-handedly delivering the most dominating performance the game has ever seen or likely will see.

However, Rob isn't the best survivor to ever play. He has lost 2 and a half times after all (I'll count Amber's win as 1/2 since he basically ran the show). The best survivor ever is Sandra. She is one of the most annoying and least interesting winners, but she has the best chance of winning every time she plays simply for the fact that she flies under the radar and does whatever the other players want her to do. She doesn't dominate challenges, she doesn't try to make bold strategic moves, she just remains bitchy yet submissive enough so that she's not perceived as a threat in any form. That's how you win Survivor.

I watched the first few seasons of Survivor. The Australian one was the best. Contrary to all the hate people tend to pile on these sorts of shows, I thought they were pretty entertaining.

I've sort of lost interest in them since then though... I don't want to use the phrase "jumped the shark" but at some point I just sort of stopped enjoying Survivor as much as I used to when I was like, 17 or however old I was.

Yeah, Redemption Island is against the entire concept of the show. AND I LOVE SANDRA <3333

I'm a huge fan of the social-strategic game, but I can't stand people that do it poorly (Russell, for example). So I'm hoping I get strategists with a semblance of a good personality this season.

I liked him okay, I guess. What I did respect about him was that he was a genuinely good person, since he donated the million he won entirely to the charity he worked for.

As a player though, meh.

My favorites ever? Kathy Vavrick-O'Brien, Yul Kwon, Earl Cole, Todd Herzog, Sandra Diaz-Twine, Rob Cesternino, and Cirie Fields! <333 I love strategists more than those stupid mactor dorks.

My favorites from an entertainment standpoint are Coach, Boston Rob, Russel, and Rupert. From a game playing standpoint I think (as I said before) Sandra is the best player ever, but for unfortunate reasons. However I do admire the strategic playing style of Cirie and Rob Cesternino. Poor Cirie gets targeted too early because she is so good at the social game. Parvoti is also a very good player and I felt she was the deserving winner of Heroes vs. Villains.
