Remember when Squall threatened to hit Rinoa on their first "date"? I never really forgave the dude for that. And it told me alot about Rinoa too, for sticking with him after that. What did she say when they first met? "Your the best looking guy here" She obviously only likes him for his looks, not his amazing sense of humor and personality. But I'm glad Sakaguchi made the couple a realistic flawed couple. But I dont forgive Squall for threatening to hit a woman...not ever.

I think he was just kidding around. My boyfriend and I do that all the time. "I'm gonna punch you bitch!" "Nu uh ho, Imma punch you first!" and then there are tiny punches. And I wouldn't say Rinoa likes him just for his looks. That's probably part of why she picked him out for the dance, but it's quite clear she's not very fond of him because of his attitude from when they meet in Timber until he saves her in Deling City.

Yep, there's nothing shockingly wrong about Squall's behavior there. How was this so wrong to the original poster, but s/he didn't have problems with Squall using his gunblade to slice Seifer, Edea and Ultimecia? After all, Rinoa is Ultimecia. :moose: (J/K)

Yep, there's nothing shockingly wrong about Squall's behavior there. How was this so wrong to the original poster, but s/he didn't have problems with Squall using his gunblade to slice Seifer, Edea and Ultimecia? After all, Rinoa is Ultimecia. :moose: (J/K) That's not even a spoiler, and she's not - Square disproved it several times (though I unfortunatly don't know where), and (and this is coming from something who loves "reading too much into things") there's nothing other than a couple of shots in the ending to indicate that.

Okay, so here's the thing.

The thing is, I have this thing I do that when my friends say silly (or offensive) things, I mime this action of slapping them back and forth across the face, accompanied with some "ch-ch-ch-ch" sound effects. It takes a hell of a lot of provocation to make me actually hit anyone.

Now you see throughout the game how calm and collected Squall always is. Without strict instructions otherwise, or a crapload of provocation, Squall never harms anybody. The last thing he's gonna do is actually smack a girl with arms and legs one eighth the diameter of his. He's clearly above that.
