If game worlds were real, where would you choose to go on a holiday?
Pictures would be awesome if you culd find any, like postcards!
The big attraction of gaming for me is the amazing worlds you can explore so I'm just curious as to what everybody's favourite places are!
Alpha Centauri!
Sure there are mindworms, but there are also cyborgs!
Planet is beautiful

Pike, you are incorrect. That doesn't look very pleasantly relaxing at all. :(
Anyway, I would go with Aselia, or Sylvarant/Tethe'alla from Tales of Symphonia since it's like visiting two planets for the price of one. Now that's a planet to find relaxing!

I'd rent a villa in Costa del Sol and then take a day trip to Gold Saucer.

I think I'd take a city break to Lindblum so I can ride a sky taxi!

Or the sky city in FF12 which I can't remember the name of...

I want to find out the ratio of all of Pike's posts against Pike's posts that mention 'Alpha Centauri' (or X-COM)
I want to find out the ratio of all of Pike's posts against Pike's posts that mention 'Alpha Centauri' (or X-COM)
I did a search just now and manually counted.
RATIO OF PIKE'S POSTS ABOUT SMAC AND/OR X-COM AGAINST HER POSTS THAT DON'T MENTION SAID GAMES
Including "meta-discussion" about aspects of the game that don't actually name the games:
42/1710
or
21/855
or
2.46%
This includes all posts I've ever made on the forum up through this point and may be a slightly low number because I have a feeling I've missed a few off-hand mentions in my search. Also, any posts that mentioned both games were counted as only one post.
AS AN ASIDE, while conducting this search I've discovered a post MILF made two years back where he states that Civ III is superior to Civ IV and I would like an explanation for this. :colbert:

I don't know I was probably high or dying or something.
For genuine relaxation and stuff?
Spira. Post-Sin, of course.
I want to know if your calculations included the post you were making to reveal your results. Otherwise the data is already inaccurate and that just won't do.

They did, yes.

The Citadel. (http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/Pappi_man/1980_1080.jpg)
Or any planet that orbits a binary star system (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1132077/images/MassEffect%202010-11-22%2023-45-40-52.jpg).
Mirage has great taste in vacation spots.
Also it amuses me that he and I both chose a planet orbiting a binary star system.

"Aside from the hostiles..." would be a great starter for pretty much any post in this thread. xD
Hmm. Tough call, really. There are some really lovely places in the various Final Fantasy games. My ideal place to go would not be a major tourist hot spot, but still have everything a tourist would want. So I'll have to avoid Costa del Sol / Wonder Square for that reason, otherwise I'd possibly agree with Murd. I always prefer to have at least a little bit of greenery where I go, too, which also possibly counts against that location. Hmm... I'll pick a few locations for different types of holiday.
City Break: Esthar, FFVIII. I mean, this place is insanely advanced, but doesn't have the slums that most insanely advanced places have (at least, not that I know of) and also doesn't come across as too snobby.
Tourist Break: Somewhere with ruins. Cyrodiil (got yer back) of Oblivion sounds nice, there are an endless number of pretty ruins there. I love ruins. =]
Relaxation Break: Somewhere really lush and green, but still with the technology to keep me going. Perhaps somewhere on Spira, there were some really pretty locations there.
Oh Man This Is Some Crazy tit Check It Out Break: Somewhere to do with the Myst series.
Cheap/Short Break: Balamb always struck me as a really nice place to go to, with the music and the small fishing town feel to it. Fishing towns always have good food available, and there looked to be enough sun and enough of a relaxed nature for me to enjoy a stay there.
Sun/Beach Break: Okay, I'll cave and put in Costa del Sol anyway. =]
