I'm assuming you mean our webchat? Are you connecting through the "Chat" link in the navigation bar at the top?

Yes and yes.

It looks like you're online right now and have been for an hour or so. I take it you're not still having the problem?

No I'm using the school computer.

I already said this in chat but for the thread's sake: There's probably a problem with your wireless connection if you're only having the problem with your laptop at home. Have you had problems with instant messengers or anything like that?

No I don't have any problems with anything else. I tried again checked and the connection is fine.

Are you able to try it on other computers in your home network, or on your laptop in another network outside your home?

I tried on different networks but it doesn't work. Do I need a certain program to run chat that my laptop may not have?

I guess you could try making sure you have the most recent Java update :\ I'm not sure where you would get it or even if it would make a difference.

Try mibbit
Mibbit.com Webchat client (http://cbe003.chat.mibbit.com/)

where there's a drop down that says "Mibbit [webirc]", click the word "server" immediately to the right of that, typing irc.calindora.com
then enter shion as your nick, #eoff as the channel and hit connect. See if it connects any better

I tried the website and installing a Java update and neither worked :/
My laptop disconnected me from the website once I was in chat at first and when I tried a second time, I didn't even have time to type shion into the little box before it kicked me off.

You could also try using a standalone IRC client such as mIRC (http://www.mirc.com/) or KVIrc (http://kvirc.net/?id=releases&platform=win32&version=4.0.4). It's what most people who frequent chat use, and they look a little complicated at first but once you have things set up they're not so bad.

If you need help with installing/setting it up, you can add me on MSN or something (I figure doing it over IRC might be hard) and I'll walk you through it. pont at post dot com.
