Now several hours after it's done, I have some more information. This was part of the 'SQ Party' series, in fact this was 'Level 2' and they teased a 'Level 3' at the end. The SQ Party series seems to be about DJs related to Square games doing their thing in a small club setting. So instead of a big orchestra playing through the soundtrack, it's a much more electronic affair.
Some bits of it were pretty cool, particularly the 2nd and lasts sets, but other parts were really out there. One artist today, DE DE MOUSE, went completely off the wall and played a good bit of 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' music in the middle of his set. So it was definitely strange. I did get a kick out of the artist Sanodg's set too, he played some music using the KORG M01 software for the DS. He actually released an album of music just made with that thing last year.
There didn't seem to be that many non-Japanese people watching it, so I doubt anyone recorded it. The ustream page also didn't archive it either. Doesn't look like there'll be a way to relive this one, but it looks like the event was to highlight last month's release of a NieR tribute album (http://www.square-enix.co.jp/music/sem/page/nier/tribute/). The two artists that I recognize from that tracklist are the two artists who had good sets. Could be worth checking out!
