Wondering if we'll ever have a remake... sigh

Why remake perfection?

Just say no to re-makes!

Would they re-make films such as Citizen Kane, Metropolis or Casablanca? Nope. Just enjoy the original vision how it was intended to be seen.

I'm currently playing through FFVI for the very first time and am loving every minute of it. I wouldn't change a thing.

Well... technically Osoma Tezuka did his own version of Metropolis and that was eventually made into a film by Rin Taro, but I digress.

The only reason I'm not interested is because I already own the Anthology version and I highly doubt they fixed the atrocious loading times since they didn't bother with the Chrono Trigger port from Chronicles.

If I want to play this again I just boot up a SNES emulator and play it with my PS3 controller. The previous PS1 release was really bad.

I thought the plan was to wait for the 3DS?

Ya, I'm totally against a remake. It is not possible for a remake to not completely and utterly disappoint me in every way.

Well, it really can't hurt anything. If they mess it up there is always the original, and that isn't going anywhere. I was pleased with FFIV's DS Remake, and have been patiently waiting to see something new with FFVI.

And like I said it can not hurt the original because it shall always be there, but since they are remaking old stuff and making nothing new other than crud, it would be fun to play a different flavor of FFVI.

My understanding is that a lot of the lag on the PSOne version was due to disk reading delays. If this is the case, perhaps the PSN version will run faster. Then again, other than the completion statistics this doesn't offer anything over the SNES version and I'll just play that.

^ That's what a lot of people thought, but Chrono Trigger had the same issue and the PSN port for that game still has the crappy loading, so most people think VI will have similar issues. :(

I've tried to resist but I'll probably end up shelling out the $10 for it since I'm a sucker for this game.
