Here's the article.

News: More details on Square Enix's 'next-gen' RPG - ComputerAndVideoGames.com (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/327850/more-details-on-square-enixs-next-gen-rpg/)

I have to say, with Kitase talking about how popular action RPGs are and Squenix's announcement they are going to release an FF title every one to two years (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/326844/square-targets-new-final-fantasy-game-every-1-2-years/?attr=CVG-General-RSS&cid=OTC-RSS), I wonder if there is a possibility this may be FFXV. Its most likely an original IP but it is weird with all the other info SE has been announcing lately.

If it quacks like a duck...

I'm hoping you're right that it's likely an original IP. That gets the token action RPG out of the way and allows a chance for FFXV to be a bit more traditional (when the fat lady sings).

I'm making fun of people that think graphics engine has anything to do with art direction, yes.

And yes, these people actually exist. There was some complaints about it when SE first licensed UE2. herpderp UE2 magically cannot render animu 3d models.
