We all know that love is a trick perpetrated by Hallmark and American Greetings to make a ton 'o cash off of our need to feel like somewhere, out there, there's a connection for us. A person whose soul speaks to our soul. A person who completes the half of our missing whole.

I have a lot of opinions on relationships, mostly because I've been burned more times than I'd care to share. Even as jaded as I am, it gives me pause when I come into contact with a real live couple that just works. Two people who are in tune, two people who truly care for one another, and two people who are stronger when they're together.

It's even more special to be a part of that couple's history, no matter how small. Each couple nominated for this award got their start here at EoFF. So in a way, we all share the tiniest bit of their history. Having already constructed their own rocketship to launch this ladies' man up and out of their landspace, airspace, everyspace, time is counting down when they finally figure out in whom's bed Iceglow is currently lying low in. Having taken a crash-course in Astrology, this man should be more than prepared to take on the rigors of lunar humping.

Long gone rogue, I'm my own MILF is heading his own [REDACTED] program in [REDACTED]. Using the lastest in [REDACTED] technology, his aims of achieving lunar [REDACTED] seems quite possible. Winning a Ciddie for the first time is a nice experience. Wining MLT Win a Ciddie for the First Time is not. Especially if you don’t win anything else. It’s more like a kick in the balls than anything. At least you can’t win Most Underrated this time around.

Our nominees are all very deserving though. It makes me feel as though we should replace this award with one they would actually like to win. It’s kind of like that time I came third place at a chess tournament. Sure, it was nice a nice trophy, but I never put it out on display when I had girls around. It’s not very sexy to be reminded that a seven year old Asian kid was still better at chess than you. You’ll never find any of these Ciddies in display cabinets, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t celebrate the things people are good at.

So welcome to the Ciddie for MLT Be Kicked in the Balls by Winning The MLT Win a Ciddie for the First Time. All of our nominees are very deserving ;)

A member can be drunk tanked for a variety of reasons. The first and most obvious is that they are drunk. While being drunk is not a criminal offence at EoFF, posting stupid inane tit is. Which brings me to the second reason one can be drunk tanked: posting stupid inane tit. Doing this while sober is an impressive feat which requires the poster to have slightly or moderately or even significantly less brain cells than the average EoFFer which is already less than the average human being in general. Keep up the good work team.

The third reason a member can be drunk tanked is spam. Not in a tin. The kind of spam that is commonly found alongside stupid inane tit but is not limited to that as such. Posts like “posting to increase post count” or “:)” or maybe even “hello wuld u lyk 2 bai my rollex watches (http://www.weebls-stuff.com/songs/Strawberry+Pancakes)” may all see you drunk tanked, if not banned outright.

The fourth reason is because we don’t like you. Yeah. I drunk tank people because I think they’re idiots. Ask G13. I do it to him all the time. He does it to me. We drunk tank each other. It’s like a game. A weird, hyper masculine and alcohol fuelled game resulting in strange homoerotic situations. But that’s alright. (By the way, I don't think G13 is an idiot. But I do think you're an idiot. Yeah, that's right. You. You know who you are.)

There was a fifth reason but I forgot what it was. Just make sure you don’t do it, okay? By the way, our nominees all match at least one – if not all – of these conditions regularly, so I don’t know why they aren’t drunk tanked right now. Looks like I’ve got a job to do.

I have no smurfing idea. I just go to the meetings and nod when the rest of them do. I play Angry Birds under the table when BoB's giving one of his presentations. If I had to take a stab at it, I'd say ¼ Best Member, ¼ Best Poster, and 2/4 Most Overrated. Speaking of overrated, I see NCG has made it through nominations.

I'm kidding of course, no one likes that guy. This must be a mistake. Award Qu, there will be an investigation later.

I'm pretty sure Hypoallergenic Cactuar is made of gold. Or mirrors. Or some other reflective surface. When I look at him I see many, many different members from EoFF past... The prolonged exposure to the archives has had some adverse effects. :erm:

Trust me, in the space of an evening, you can make a connection with a member more intimately than you could have in a year on the forum. o_O (pronounced oh-underscore-OHHH) is a chatbot with a million tricks and triggers up his sleeve. Do you need a drink? Do you need a proverb? Do you need a thorough and easily-understood answer for any question that may be bothering you? This guy just might know.

Roogle (pronounced with an Indian accent) is the exotic find of #eoff. A dabbler in stalkology (the study of stalking) and dokalogy (the study of Dokal), it can be a little intimidating to first connect with Roogle. After a few intense interrogations, though, you may find yourself on the adventure of your life and with a slew of partners you never met before.

The Best Veterans still have it bad. They’re not newbies any more. Eyes on Final Fantasy has lost its novelty, its quaint little charm. You’re no longer here to discuss Final Fantasy. That died out years ago.

But you’re not oldbies yet. No. Whenever someone brings up The Golden Years™ and you begin to say something, Raistlin comes along and tells you to smurf off. Pre-2000s or get outta here. You’re bitter, jaded, life is lackluster as you start having to take on responsibilities in meatspace. All you want to do is rekindle that childhood spark, but it’s out of reach.

Basically, you can’t win. Everybody hates you. But we still have a Ciddie for you. We wouldn’t want you to, y’know, feel left out or anything. When I look at the nominees for the Best Oldbie Ciddie, I can’t help but think… what the smurf were you people thinking? Do you even know what an “oldbie” is? It’s a member that’s actually OLD. It’s someone who remembers previous incarnates of EoFF, who understands the references in Sick Irony, who appreciates a good “PIPE!” joke, and who remembers a time when “Del” didn’t refer to some Murder wannabe. It’s someone who remembers a time when none of these whippersnappers were even registered (and boy, wasn’t that a nice time?).

But because some nerd in a Quina suit decided to make “oldbie” mean anyone who registered before 2006, you sheep have selected this bunch. It's no news that Marshall Banana is well appreciated around the forums. For a long time she's been active and activating others along with her, with a fun personality and an air of infectious cheer. A somewhat less known fact, but one that we've been learning more and more ever since we first started working on the move to vBulletin 4, is that she is also fantastically productive, helpful and a quick worker.

If you're not on staff, chances are you don't know that she is behind the recent addition of Triple Triad. And the recent addition of working youtube tags. And lots of creative ideas. And style, after style... after style, all of them loved by those of us who aren't inexplicably attached to 90s web design.

Old Manus once called HTML5 the Duke Nukem Forever of Internet technology. If EoFF's fabled new frontsite isn't to become the Duke Nukem Forever of EoFF, I think I dare say that she had the biggest hand of all of us in that. She moved the content over almost single-handedly (though Jiro's help is not to be discounted). This is no small feat and we're all pretty much blown away by how quickly she did it, and without making any sort of fuss about the amount of work or how the rest of us barely lifted a finger to help. :D

She hasn't been on staff long, but to call her contribution so far impressive would be the understatement of the year. And this is all besides the fact that she is a great personality to have in staff (I know she certainly makes me want to do more). She also introduced me to boba tea when I visited. Perhaps her greatest achievement of all!

I hope you appreciate this award, because I can think of nobody more deserving. You're the best!

Jessweeeeeeeeeeee: Lawful Evil Human Paladin. But foa, you can't have a Lawful Evil Paladin. But EoFFers, SHUT UP. Jessweeeeeeeeeeee is full of surprises. And will pray to her dark god to have your head cut clean off, if she takes a notion. After all, it isn't murder if her pagan lord destroys you. She also makes it a particular point to do things that make me laugh.

G13: Chaotic Good Human Cleric. Does the right thing precisely because it's the right thing. Very good at counterbalancing some of the more evil staffers (like Rantzien and Jessweeeeeeeeeeee.) Though he has his weaknesses (Wookies) G13 is a powerful ally and a good friend.

To simplify the reason I voted for Megan, it's because she makes EoFF a better place. A better community. She's been leading by example over the past six months by etting involved, promoting discussion, being inclusive. Look at the participatory and fun threads she's made. Karaoke, Movie Club, a meet up, and now Christmas Cards, to name a few. She's made us all have a good time and want to join in, and in EoFF today that's more important than the increasingly sparse moderation work. This award is fully deserved. :)

It was a pretty tight race, and I will say that Rantzien had the same number of votes as foa but lost the tiebreaker (which was basically: he's won it too many times already!). So let's not forget Rantzien because obviously without him this would be a gloomy place where nothing worked right.
