So i've had my PS3 for a while and it suffered from the YLOD. I tried to fix it (bad idea). So i'm considering to sell it for some cash for a new one. I've seen online that some people have sold theirs on ebay and it looks profitable. Wondering if its a good idea to do it or not?
I'm confused; why would anyone buy a broken PS3?

People tend to buy them for the parts or they try to refurbish them and resale. I've seen multiple PS3s with YLOD or just broken being sold on ebay for $80.00 and above.

If someone wants it for the parts I don't see why it wouldn't be a good idea. It's not like you'll be able to play it at all.

Yeah, go for it. I know people that did this with 360s.

I had the same thing and these guys (http://www.gophermods.com/) did an awesome job for a very reasonable price. If you absolutely don't want the thing, though, and you said you saw good sales on eBay, then go for it.

Ah, got it.
I say go for it then.
