Chocobos vs. Moogles

Chocobos all the way. I've never really had any interest in moogles, they generally are only marginally useful for the one time in the game you visit their 'village' and I don't find them particularly endearing to begin with.

Chocobos on the other hand are and extremely useful method of travel and one of the coolest methods of animal locomotion in video games.

I don't see this poll being divisive to our community or anything.

Moogles, because in IX it was entertaining to watch them work in the Mognet Central when I fixed that damned place, they also have funny names (Mogster..).

Also, I like the sound of "Kupo!", the strange red pom-pom's, wierd personalities and those little wings. :D

Chocobos, no contest. They look awesome, and they're incredibly useful and entertaining. Moogles may be cool little creatures, but they don't come close to chocobos in terms of utility and entertainment value.

Nothing against moogles, I love them. I love the pom-poms, I love the kupo noise, I love everything about them. They'd be great friends. The thing is though, they can talk. And while that's awesome, I've always had a thing for animals that can't talk back. It might be weird, but I love having something otherwise helpless depending on me for warmth, food, etc. and taking it upon myself to hold it's life in my hands. I grew up mostly homeless, and my only friends were stray cats. They were my only family for 6 years or so. Which makes the feeling I get from holding something that can't communicate with me linguistically so much sweeter. Because I know it loves me for a reason. Unconditionally. I can imagine a chocobo looking at me with its non-sentient eyes (sentient in this case describing being unable to look at oneself objectively as a member of a species or as an individual life force, not just knowing that oneself is alive) and the cute little smirk its beak makes, and just feeling the love emanating from an animal that can't tell me what it's thinking. Just knowing that he/she will always be there for me and doing whatever it takes to give this innocent creature the life of peace and love it deserves is enough, because it is literally incapable of doing anything to make itself undeserving of such treatment.
...I'm strange.

Since when did MogNet actually help the player with anything?Being able to save your game is way more helpful than a stupid chocobo ride.

We managed just fine for eight games before the moogles monopolized the saving and mail industries. And I didn't have to watch a stupid cut-scene every time I want to save.

Moogle's because Mog has some mad skills on the dance floor and picks up all the ladies.

Not to mention they got decidedly cooler in FFXII. Montblanc is a pretty cool guy.

Moogles, cause why would I want to waste valuable grinding time riding a giant chicken? I've never really cared for chocobos and I pretty much never used them outside of the story forcing me and sidequest/mini-game fluff. Mog on the other hand is one of my favorite party members and I enjoy dabbling with a Moogle centric party in the TA franchise. Not to mention how awesome it was to get turned into a moogle in Secret of Mana, or get saved by the small army of moogles in VI, or screw with the WM Moogle save point by summoning him over and over until he started threatening you in IX. Hell this is still the funniest Easter Egg in Dissidia for me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Z-9G9PXXMU&list=FLqDAV5Y6wfOtgQ7lyOICx-g&index=79&feature=plpp_video).

Chocobos! The racing and hot&cold minigames were possibly the most entertaining minigames in the series. Mognet on the other hand felt like a waste of time and you had to talk to every single mog you ever met...

If it were between the FFXII chocobos and moogles, then it would get a little harder to decide. Moogles were a main race, equal to humans, bangaa, viera, and seeqs. And The Craftsmoogles Guild, while fairly unorganized, was pretty damn cool, not to mention helpful in getting to fight the Hell Wyrm* and providing good filler in between the main pieces of the story. Also, there were hostile chocobos in XII, which makes it harder to vie for them. But chocobos and moogles from any other FF are a clear decision in favor of the chocobos, which means overall the chocobos still win.

*Not putting spoiler tags on a game that's over five years old.
