January Photography/Graphic Manipulation Thread.

Happy New Year! It's time once again for our monthly photo competition! These have been going really well, and I wanted to take the time to thank all our players whether you're a regular are just the occasional participant.

Last month's theme was "dreams" and the winner was Del Murder. (http://forums.eyesonff.com/relms-studio/139908-dec-photo-graphic-manip-contest.html)

He has decided our new theme will be Warmth

A good theme, and appropriate for the seasons in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres. It'd be cool to see a combination of warm winter images, and then warm summer images at the same time.

As usual, you'll have 15 days to photograph and submit your piece of work to me. After that, I'll open up the polls for 5 days to decide the winner. Good luck!

If it makes you feel any better and there are no entries, I'll try to remember to grab something with my cell phone camera and non-existent photography skills. There's sadly a reason I never participate in this competition.

I've taken a couple pictures for this but they didn't really capture the theme very well so I scrapped them. I had an idea, but it involved snow, and it hasn't snowed here yet.

Hah, get this; bought a brand new Canon EOS 550D, and I wind up taking my entry picture with my phone. D'oh! Anyway, I've got some levelling/contrasting to do and I'll send it in.

I was just goofing around, but now is a good time to ask. Do you think the contest should be dialed back to once every two months?

That was Amanda's original concern and I thought at the time she might have a point.

Is having it back to back starting to drive people crazy?

Every two months is fine but keep the 15 days for submission thing. If you double it up, it will take ages to see anything and people will get bored/lazy.

Yeah I meant warmth as in warm colors. Of course you could take it literally as well!
