So in this thread you post what things you are reading/playing/watching for each month of 2012. Ideally you should have one post and come back and edit it each month. Of course, you can post more if you want to comment on what other people are doing. :p You can also give ratings to the various media.

At the end of the year we'll have something to look back on and see what we did!

Games

Dragon Age II (Incredibly fun, but the plot was a little underwhelming. I loved the characters though, and I was missing half of them the first time around. Judging by what I've seen in my second time around so far, actually having them this time will make a huge difference. For example, everything that happens in Act II can be blamed on a very easily missed party member.)
We ♥ Katamari - in progress
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - in progress
Patapon - in progress
Skyrim - in progress

Shows

Community (assuming it starts back up again this month anyway)
Persona 4: The Animation (I especially love the shout outs to the game. They're done in such a cute and subtle way. I also love the filler episodes. Having played the game I always have an idea of when they're coming and kind of dread them, but they're always surprisingly good. Especially today's episode; Nanako is trying to figure out why Yu keeps coming home late. Turns out he's been out doing every sidequest from the game ever.)

Movies

The Gumby Movie (This movie is so whack, that it made more sense to me when I watched it high.)

Music

School of Seven Bells - I've had the single Chain in my library for years now and I've always loved it. The rest, when I finally got around to it, was nice but not as great.
Foster the People
Spoon
Filter, The Trouble with Angels - This album is the biggest piece of tit ever and I am not quick to call something a piece of tit. I loved Title of Record and The Amalgamut, found their albums before then to be enjoyable, and everything after to be kind of meh, but this one is just terrible. Listen to this tit. Just listen to it:

Movies
The Fighter - ** The acting was really good especially by Christian Bale, but tired of inspirational boxer movies.
Mortal Kombat - * Not entirely sure why I decided to watch this again because it reminded me how horrible it is. Weird to think everyone used to think this was the only redeemable video game movie. How wrong they are. At least it was better than the second...I couldn't even get past fifteen minutes of that.
Highlander - * 1/2 Horrible, but I like it. Hence the half.
Stag Night - * No, just no. Stop making movies about cannibals plz.
Super - ** Disturbing...

Music
Pilgrims of the Mind - **
Armin Van Buuren (His 2011 State of Trance Mix) - Very long, but good. **
Dir en grey (Live) - * The sound in the venue was horrible for a majority of the songs. It didn't reverb properly at all. I think they're meant to play larger venues or outside where it can be spaced properly, or they just needed better sound techs in general.
Nada Ali - **
Home and Garden - **
The Killers - **
Greysong Chance - *1/2 I didn't actually listen to this on my own, I was taking a road trip with a friend and it was on her iPod. Just wanted to clarify that...but regardless I still think he's a much better singer than Justin Bieber and his songs are catchier imo.

Books

Video Games
Dead or Alive - ** I don't remember which one, but it was one of the fighting ones not the Volleyball one. Best fighting game graphics.
Halo 3: ODST - * I don't see much improvement from 3. Glad I didn't purchase Reach. :monster:
Assassin's Creed Revelations - ** So far so good, though I don't like the instillation of Portal type gameplay with Desmond.
Mortal Kombat 9/2011 - *1/2 They tie all (well most) of the games together with this one. This game will also be cheap though. I doubt they will ever get out of the narrow box unless they get new developers. Still fun to play though not on multiplayer where everyone just spams the same special move over and over.

Television
Shameless (American VRS.) - *** Some of the best writing I've ever seen on T.V. Show is so quotable.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - **

~JANUARY~

Books:

Nights at the Circus *** -- I was up and down with this one, but in the end I think it's a masterpiece
Small Gods *** -- Reread, one of my favorite discworld novels
Mrs. Dalloway -- In progress.
The Tibetan Book of the Dead -- In progress.
The Analetics of Confucious -- In progress.
East of Eden ***** -- Nothing short of perfect. I don't know why it took me so long to get to this book, I think I was intimidated.
Metamorphosis (Kafka) -- In progress
ghostbread (Sonja Livingston) **** -- Well written memoir of a little girl who's basically every little girl who grew up with a poor single mother.

Films: (Yeah, I'm playing catch-up.)

True Grit *** -- Coen brothers are masterful
Our Idiot Brother *1/2 -- Should have been better
Bridesmaids **1/2 -- Better than I expected
Louis C.K. Hilarious ********** -- Rewatch. Dude's so perfectly hilarious
Drive **** -- I don't want to overthink it. Was fun to watch. Best movie of the year? nope
Attack the Block ***1/2 -- Interesting Brit sci-fi/horror movie that has quite a few things going on in the subtext that make it worthwhile.

Music:

The King of Limbs??? -- Still trying to wrap my head around this album
Iron&Wine (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nd-A-iiPoLg) ***** -- I'll never satisfy my thirst for Iron&Wine. Ever.
Fleet Foxes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKxd0YHvJKQ) ***** -- Brilliant
Beastie Boys (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evA-R9OS-Vo) **** -- Tally-ho bitches.
Bassnectar -- man, the bass, it's narcotic

Games:

D&D ***** -- Straight nerd, yo.
Final Fantasy XII *** -- I think someday this may surpass even FFVI as my favorite Final Fantasy.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance ***
Fortresscraft ** -- Minecraft clone, fun with kids

TV:

Once ** -- Generic, poorly acted, and crappy special effects, but interesting nonetheless. I'll keep watching just for more Robert Carlyle.
Terra Nova ** -- I was hoping for more dinosaurs and better special effects, but I like some of the characters, and just gotta know about the ship's prow.
Game of Thrones **** -- Some weird casting choices and the inevitable differences with the book, but altogether just awesome fantasy tv.
Dexter *** -- Beginning to lose points, 6th season has been sub-par
New Girl **** -- Love this show
Kentucky Basketball ********* -- This is the year. Duke, UNC, funk off.
Weeds -- Catching up, no it's not nearly as good as it started off, but I still enjoy it occasionally.

~FEBRUARY~

Books:

The Invention of Solitude (Paul Auster) ***** -- Great memoir by a writer I want to start reading a lot more of
Swallow the Ocean (Laura M. Flynn) **** -- Another good memoir. Kind of on a memoir kick.
Hunger Games[I] (Suzanne Collins) ***1/2 -- The full trilogy, the end was effing horrible. Utterly disappointing, but I can't deny that it had me sucked in for a bit.

Films: (Still playing catch-up.)

[I]Moneyball ***** -- Great movie. I'm a baseball fan, but even if I wasn't it would still be a great movie.

Music:

Games:

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim ***** -- I got deep into this game late.
The World of Good ****1/2 -- Playing with my daughters.

TV:

Kentucky Basketball ********* -- This is the year. Duke, UNC, funk off. Let's add Syrexcuse to that list.

Maybe this should be my one resolution for 2012, actually stick through with the media log. I have an excel sheet for 2011, but it's definitely missing a lot.

I should try and do this then. I've been waiting for a new year. This is just tit that I see/watch/read/play this year. I don't care when it was made. Also I don't do ratings. Smurf you guys. :greenie:

Books:

The Black Prism -- At first it was too complicated, confusing and far-fetched but then it all tied together really well and left a great sequel hook that has me excited already.
My class text books -- :(

Films:

The Dark Knight -- Just as good as the first time. Heath Ledger's performance really is remarkable.
Our Idiot Brother -- Watched this without sound on the plane. Anything with Zoey Deschanel is worth watching.
Moneyball -- Also on the plane, this time with sound. I enjoyed it quite a bit for being so unfamiliar with baseball.
Sunshine -- I love this film, I really do.
28 Days Later -- Entertaining enough! The washed out coloring was strange, but it was made like a decade ago.
28 Weeks Later -- Enjoyed this just as much as the previous! The helicopter scene was ridiculous.
Casino Royale -- It's James Bond. Although I had a newfound interest in the poker scenes, in which I even spotted an error. Goddamn.
300 -- I love Gerard Butler and this is one insanely testosterone injected film. Fight in the shade? :hahaha:
Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows -- Just what I expected from the film, entertaining until the very end!
Yes Man -- I do like Jim Carey quite a bit and again Zoey Deschanel makes everything great.

Games:

Battlefield 3 -- Still addicted. Still addicted.
Gears of War 3 -- Playing online just gets shotgun spammers but it's entertaining enough.
Advance Wars: Dark Conflict -- I'm bad at it, but it's still fun!

Tv Shows:

Game of Thrones -- I need more episodes damn it!!

Books:
Films:

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete -- I enjoyed it far more than the original one. It was much better.
All About Steve -- It was pretty funny, and I enjoyed the insight into american journalism :greenie:
Kickass -- I still cannot get past the fact that an actual girl had to deliver Hit Girl's lines.
White Chicks -- It was kind of idiotic but still funny.
Rampage -- I knew it was going to be bad when "directed by uwe boll" popped up. Oh goodness.
The Woman in Black -- holy titballs that was scary good.
Spread -- Sex sex sex and then an ending. Uh. Yeah.
Kingdom of Heaven -- It's a pretty cool action film, don't mind some Orlando. The knighting scene is awesome.
Semi-Pro -- Actually enjoyed it more than I expected.

Games:

Rusty Hearts -- Somewhat repetitive but entertaining and different enough.
Final Fantasy VII -- what do you want me to say? :shobon:
Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions -- Enjoying it so far, love seeing things that made it into TA in their (sort of) original format.
Wild ARMs XF -- Not quite the kind of Wild ARMs game I was expecting but as soon as the music starts...
Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core -- Zack is super hyper at the beginning which is making it interesting to see how he grows.

Tv Shows:

NY Ink -- This show has nothing to do with tattoos and everything to do with drama.
Archer -- It's bad in a good way :p
Sons of Guns -- Makes me scared of America.

Books:

The Silmarillion -- in progress
The Hunger Games -- it was good, not great, but I enjoyed it.
Catching Fire -- Probably the best of the books.
Mockingjay -- very disappointing ending.

Films:

Indiana Jones 4 -- I love Indy but this wasn't really very good. Fun, but nowhere near as good as the others.
Mad Max 2 -- I like how they went to my place to be safe.
Speed -- Missed a bit at the start but it was still pretty good.
Star Wars Episode I -- I love Liam Neeson and Ewan MacGregor, and Darth Maul is an awesome villain.
Star Wars Episode II -- Still love Ewan MacGregor. I hate the character of Anakin in this one, but I think Hayden Christensen does a good job of being a whiny bitch :greenie:
The Ides of March -- I like movies about politics, I liked it.
Holes -- I love this film, one of my favourites as a kid.
I, Robot -- Will Smith is pretty badass.

Games:

Team Fortress 2 -- Pretty fun, and very in depth.
Frozen Synapse -- Addictive. So very addictive.
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together -- I love tactical games and this one is no different, very well done.
Betrayal at House on the Hill -- It's a sweet ass board game man.
Lunar -- It's still pretty good for a remake of a very old game.

Tv Shows:

Ninja Warrior -- Obstacle courses for hardcore japanese fellas. Apparently there had only two guys to ever complete the course so they decided to make it harder. wtf
FLCL -- I have no idea what I watched but I liked it.

Books:

Films:

American Reunion -- It was funny enough. Not a big fan of the series but it made me laugh.
The Hunger Games -- pretty decent adaptation all things considered.
Jarhead -- definitely felt very "'mericah!"
Jeepers Creepers -- Gotta stop watching tv movies, scary bastards
Die Hard 4 -- It's Die Hard, the man's film.
Legion -- I expected more, I don't know why. Still, ice cream man.
Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol -- probably my favourite one, in no small part to Simon Pegg.
Pineapple Express -- This was pretty good for a stoner film.
The Immortals -- It was probably just as bad if not worse than Clash of the Titans, but still kind of cool.
Deja Vu -- Love this film.
The Chronicles of Riddick -- Riddick is so bad ass. The plot of this made no sense but it was awesome still.
Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengence -- I worry for Nick Cage's sanity, he plays a crazy dude well.
Zombieland -- Pretty good combo of zombies and comedy if you ask me. Plus I have a crush on Emma Stone.
Star Wars Ep III: Revenge of the Sith -- Finally no more Hayden Christenson. He does the whiny Anakin thing so well that I hate the character an awful lot.
Dragonball Evolution -- coulda woulda shoulda. It's bad :(
Star Wars Ep IV: A New Hope -- Finally got into the classic stuff. Obviously a lot of things that don't quite match up with the prequel stuff but cool nonetheless.
1408 -- Kinda terrifying but I enjoyed it. The "it's all a dream" bit was okay but I still have no idea what the whole thing was about.
Dream House -- really enjoying Daniel Craig as an actor, this was a pretty good movie.
Death Race -- Does Jason Statham live in cars? Every movie, I swear.
Final Fantasy VII: Last Order -- didn't tell me much that Crisis Core isn't already doing.
On The Way to a Smile -- It was neat to learn even more about Denzel. Reeve looked weird and it took me ages to figure out it was him.
Chronicle -- oh man.
Dear John -- Contrasted with Jar Head quite well I think. Although bitches still be cheating.
Unknown -- great twist, Liam Neeson strikes again.

Another year in the books! I'll give people a couple more days to fill out their lists if anyone else is still paying attention. Then this is off to the archives.
