View Full Version : What's scarier than zombies?

Seriously I've been asking everyone this question and no one is giving me very good answers. You can't say a flying zombie, or a zombie with lasers cause that's still a zombie. Not zombie + something. It has to be something other than zombies.

GO.

Fictitiously, the face hugger/chest buster combo from Aliens always looked really shitty.

Clowns but they're not so much scary as I just totally distrust them! Being/allowing myself to become clinically obese is also worse than zombies

I'm terrified of zombies, like it's some kind of fear; absolutely mortified by them

A lot of those aren't scary, just irritating.

Hollycat

I don't find zombies scary.
If you disconnect the head from the body it becomes useless and is no longer dangerous. I have a large collection of katanas, machetes, and long knives (some of which are more like short swords, but whatever)

Bring it on zombies.

Freya

You'd die in a zombie apocalypse. Everything you listed is messy, and you just infected yourself cause you wanted to use a messy weapon.

I find zombies one of the most terrifying thing. They are weak yes, but in a massive group you're screwed. It's an unrelenting creature that will not care if it breaks bones to get to you. And it can be your loved ones. Your loved one is contorting in ways you never thought possible to try to consume your very being. That's scary.

I can't figure out what's scarier than that that you'd want to turn around and go back towards the zombies.

I've always wondered, why would a zombie die when its head is cut off, the brain is already dead long before that, and quite possibly rotting, leaving only a bacterium or virus left to keep the corpse moving, so shouldnt the zombie keep on going until it runs out of fuel and simply falls over?

Freya
01-14-2012, 10:15 PM
Goodness boy! Learn your zombie lore x.x Most zombies are just the reanimated dead, not possessions. Possessions are a different thing all together. Even when dead, the brain still is the area firing the impulses through your body to move. Zombies are more often then not just creatures with the basic human functions, consume something for fuel to live. You destroy the one area that's sending the signals to move, to eat, to run, and it's dead. Even if a bacterium was the reason, it still needs the brain to send those impulses.

You're soooo gonna die in the zombocalypse, Hypo. NOW ENOUGH ABOUT ZOMBIES. This is what's scarier than them thread x.x

Nothing is scarier than a zombie. I have a serious fear of the zombie apocalypse. It's not a joke to me. I have nightmares every other night about it, and sometimes I'll wake up in the middle of the night if I hear something, and think one is in my house or something. I freak the hell out over them.

Just thinking about a previous "human being" wanting to tear every single piece of flesh from my body as I lie there screaming, not able to do anything but die a slow painful death...... People can joke all they want about it, but that shit is scary.

Sylvie

Being taken away and tortured by the secret police and knowing that no one can save you is several million times scarier than any brand of zombie apocalypse imaginable. Bradley Manning's will has actually been beaten to the consistency of a white handful of play-dough and he has not been rescued. Zombie activity is still only active in popular culture.

Zombies aren't scary, shut up.

The ocean is scary, a crushing, black abyss where man was not meant to travel. Also, sharks.

I'm not that scared of the ocean. Maybe the deepest darkest parts, but I'm not ever planning on going there, so I'm not worried about it. Also,

Pfft. Knife --> neck. No more problem.
There isn't a lot that scares me. I try to be prepared for nearly every situation. Impromptu traveling, car crashes, being mugged/robbed/burglarized, zombies, aliens, being stranded at sea, the flu, et cetera. I have a list of things somewhere that I try to be prepared for, with a myriad of likely (and unlikely) situations, which I cross off as soon as I find a way to overcome each situation. I only have two situations I have yet to cross off. Example: I have three of those tools that you place against your car window to break it in case of being driven into a body of water. One in the glove compartment, one in the little hatch in between the two front seats, and one that I keep in my rucksack.
Not that I would be able to fight off aliens, of course. If they arrive hostile, I usually have a suicide pill with me; I wouldn't want to put up with trying to fight off a civilization of intelligent beings more advanced than we are. If they can travel vast distances across space, I doubt we'd be able to do anything to stop them. But I'm not afraid of them, regardless. I'm pretty jaded.

I don't care how many people are actually killed by sharks every year, they're still fucking scary beasts. As a human, if you're ever in the ocean, you're clearly in their domain and at a severe disadvantage. I'd rather face a fucking bear.

Tigmafuzz

I'd take on a bear. It's on the list.

Any other dangerous thing in the world. Zombies aren't any more scary than old people, which is essentially what they are.

Freya

But old people are terrifying o.o

Pant Leg Eater from the Bad World

They also smell horrid.

TrollHunter
01-16-2012, 08:46 AM
They also have seriously decreased motor skills and crippled bodies in most cases.
So wait... old people are zombies. I KNEW IT
I'd say the kinda entities from my imagination that used to haunt me at night are scarier, a dark silent silhouette just waiting for you to close your eyes to strike. You can't see them, you can't hear them, but they're there.... waiting.

Tigmafuzz
01-16-2012, 03:13 PM
Now that you mention it, the only thing I would actually be afraid of if I actually had to face them would be the stone angels.

"Kids" was the worst fucking piece of shit film I've endured since "Gummo". Steer clear.

There's lots of stuff scarier than zombies.

Like an infinite void filled only with the deafening but struggling thumping of a heart with arteries made of eels that slither endlessly around each other, unable to unloose themselves from the suffocating knot, teetering forever on the edge of death.
