Personally, I feel the reviews I've read so far are spot-on. The game is an improvement over FFXIII mechanically in every way, but the story just does not live up to standards. It's also going to do nothing to sway people who were completely turned off by the first game.

I am going to play it, and I'll probably like it, but it won't be the game that reminds me how great this series was.
