ITT: Old websites you used to spend a lot of time at and don't anymore.

I'll start:

YTMND (I made this (http://phi.ytmnd.com/) years ago)
Newgrounds
Homestar Runner
A bunch of old forums that are probably dead by now
Lots of old webcomics (8-Bit Theater comes to mind as one I followed religiously for months)

Unbreakable Will

Newgrounds
DragonFable
Myspace
Any site with Naruto media
animefreak (it used to be ok before all the virus links)

Thats all I can think of at the moment but I know there's so many more.

I also made a ytmnd (http://bearsofwar.ytmnd.com/) at one point of time. It was when the first Gears of war came out. I thought I was clever.

But really, just this place hah. I guess WAY back when:

freaking neopets
Oh and Weebls

I second YTMND. I made two ytmnds that have over 100,000 views and 2,000 votes. (There is this one that is nearing 300,000 views (bpironchef.ytmnd.com), and this one. (http://orangestory.ytmnd.com/) Also made 68 ytmnds overall.)
Before Y2K, I used to frequent the chatroom at www.nintendo.com. It was used to be called the Loud House, then it changed to Nsider, and soon it disappeared sometime after 2000.

Oh yeah...damned neopets took up most of my time in the sixth grade. Forgot about that. Oh! And mondominishows, you know Happy Tree Friends and the like.

A lot of mine have already been posted. YTMND, Newgrounds, Homestar Runner, 8-Bit Theater, 4chan, and Mondo Mini-Shows.
Also Cyanide and happiness used to give me a good chuckle, and xkcd is one I still visit from time to time. Penny Arcade, FantasyAnime before they had most of their stuff taken down due to copyright, Lemon64, Cracked, The Onion, Bartleby (I think I stopped going because I've read pretty much everything there), Extreme Tech, Scientific American, National Geographic, VGMusic and OC Remix, Least I Could Do, gregcomic, and probably dozens of others that I'm forgetting.

Pike

I still go to Neopets.
And 4chan. Not /b/, though, so it's slightly more okay. Right?

Also, Last Days of Foxhound was the BEST WEBCOMIC. That and Elf Only Inn.

You guys who went to Newgrounds, did you also frequent the forums? I was a big shot back there, oh yes I was. (not really so much, but Flash Forum represent )

Most of mine have been mentioned; MySpace, neopets, happy tree friends, newgrounds. Add to that addicting games, SMBC and a whole bunch of Role Play and gaming forums.

newgrounds
8bit theater (and 8bit college, and Legend of Mana Theater, and Staccato.....)
adult swim/cartoon network website when all they had were Space Ghost clips
and pages for the characters
yahoo chat (oh yes)
real ultimate power before it stopped updating

some others.

YTMND, Real Life, Final Fantasy Legends (now dead for sure). can't think of anything else of significance right now.

Oh yeah, those roleplaying sites where you sign up and create a character... I'm having a hard time describing it really, but it's all text and picture based adventuring and clan making and what not, they had one for naruto and the eragon book series and all sorts of stuff. I was a major player in the naruto one for a while in middle school, I was running my own clan and fronting two others whilst making a habit of beating the final boss and leveling up every couple hours...don't judge, I had no life. :eep:

I've been on 4ch since 2003 or 2004 - but back then it was a scary place with lots of gore, and I was afraid of gore bc I had not spent the subsequent 9 years laughing at it.

That reminds me. there's also that rot related site i won't name

as for actual hang outs where i am part of a community:

(all gone)
ff8.gamegurus.net
blackgoku.com

I was one of the most active posters in ff8 gamegurus, having beat FF8 in everything but the god forsaken card game (argh stop changing the rules i don't understand!). I even eventually found the secret monster whose name i forgot.

Actually it was gamegurus that brought me here.

I'd be shocked if anybody in this forum knew about BG. He's this (Black) dude in detroit who started this webpage aggregating dbz stuff. back in the day i offered to upload these 25 MiB episodes (lol i don't even know what bit rate they were) for him, and eventually he created a ubb forum which i joined and later became super mod.

It eventually fell apart but it was fun. We practice hard core cronyism and i abused a lot of powers to get rid of people i disliked (like changing their password and associated email - voila you get rid of a user). Please do this to me btw.

Anyway BG probably graduated college and grew up because I stopped seeing him online. I do have one (and only one) friend i still talk to online. One of the BG members lives in Toronto and I met him once (we went to a strip club; my first time there... lol strip clubs)

um...so yeah. Those are the two major ones other than EoFF. I still like EoFF more than BG, mostly because it has been far more drama and stupidness.

And you guys are ALL emotionally strange things. All of you. without exception. So freaking bizarre.

I used to post on Newgrounds in 2000 before it even had a proper forum. Yeah I was a stupid little retarded 13 year old on the internet and I vaguely recall Tom Fulp himself correcting my grammar. Saying that another forum member "rapez pigz" was frowned upon apparently.

Also christ Homestar Runner. That was a god damn website. I had like four t-shirts from there. It was the height of comedy to me when I was like 16 or 17. Blimey.

I never was big into the internet when I was growing up, never saw much use for it.
Two sites I did go to a lot... that I really regret are Gaiaonline and Basilmarket (was a forum for a game I played, terrible game, terrible forum)
I still go to the latter occasionally, but it's only to see how quick I can get banned there and how entertaining I can make it for myself.

I used to visit tons of sites on a daily basis. Now I only go to like three different sites on a regular basis. Looking back, I really don't know how I found the time to spend on so many different sites.

Newgrounds
SomethingAwful
Portal of Evil
5chan
AlbinoBlackSheep
Livejournal
Stickam
Many more I'm not going to name

Jeez, at least two of those I know for a fact don't even exist anymore.

Tigmafuzz

I forgot about SomethingAwful and AlbinoBlackSheep. How could I forget AlbinoBlackSheep? I learned about Group X and Llama Llama Duck from there.
Oh and Stickpage and XgenStudios. Both of which I found through Newgrounds.

When I was in college I used to want to know everything there was to know about FFVII and I would trawl the internet for hours until I came across a site that eventually led me here, it was the FFVII Cove (I still remember the web address but it was taken down when Virtual Ave started charging people to use their bandwith ) but thats when I decided to find a new site to call my home, thus EoFF became my home site and hasn't been changed since I joined.

BTW if anyone here used to go to the same site, were you FudgeMonkey? cause I used to be BlackDragon2046... or something like that, still miss that dude, he was awesome.

Pokemon Trading Cards Online
Some flash humor website like Smilepop.com or something like that?
Neopets
That is it!

I use to love going to a place called Drake's Hangout (it died and I was only there because I was invited by a friend and I don't know how he found out about it), and I did the Cartoon Network ORBITZ thing where you collected toon pictures and stuff, I only played on Newgrounds when I was in school, the Nickolodien equivalent a chat site called chatfamily I found through google, things were better back in the day. :C

-YTMND
-Homestar Runner (Though I watched a bunch of it recently, thanks random button! Pretty sure it's on some kinda permanent hiatus though.)
-8-bit Theater, but I got a bit tired of how slowly the plot moved. Then I saw the ending and thought it was kinda worth it.
-Gaming World, now known as Salt World, though I occasionally lurk and make a post or two from time to time.
-The original MP3.com, back when it was essentially what MySpace music is now, only way less crappy because there was a lot less limit to how much a user could upload

-This place, actually. I quite literally keep forgetting about it despite the fact I like most of the people here. Sorry everyone!

Back in middle school, Addicting Games was all the rage, but I haven't gone on that site in years. I also use to frequent Adventure Game Studio to play games like 7 Days a Sceptic, but now that I don't have a PC anymore, computer gaming is alot less appealing to me. I think also, Fanfiction.net was a huge one for me in middle school up until maybe like Sophomore year of high school. I stopped writing and continued to read stuff, but it doesn't seem like many of the authors I like are updating anymore either.

Ethos Sanctuary was probably the only forum I was a part of before coming here though I still have Xenogears Guardian Angels on my favorites and I did submit stuff there. Xenogears God and Mind was another site I frequented as a lurker.

8-bit theater before it ended
A Bleach Manga website before I gave up on the series cause it's not going anywhere.
Anime News Network
iGod - fun times :jess:
Lifestream.net
Chrono Compendium
Suikosource
NewsGrounds
Anime Music Videos.org
Deviant Art
OMG My Game
Outpost Nine Editorials I am a Japanese School Teacher - Stopped being funny once he returned home.

Sites I wish to add to this list:
YouTube
TV Tropes - I want my evenings back dammit
VGCatz - Lack of consistent updates and the fact he's not been as funny lately is probably going to make me stop visiting.
