[I Don't Need A Name]

So I've not got round to playing my copy of the game due to me not being in the vicinity of my PS3. However, I popped the soundtrack into my laptop and started listening. Sounded promising...until I found every other track had some bad vocal track over the top (including that horrific rapping in Unseen Intruder..)

So I was wondering the rest of your guys opinions on the music, and if those tracks actually work in the gameplay context?

Didn't know if this should be in VG Soundtracks Forum or not, but I thought it best suited here..

I don't like some of the music, but I feel a lot of it does suit the game. The light vocal tracks I can dig, but other stuff I think is simply lame. Like when did the dude from Powerman 5000 start to do boss tracks?

I don't care what anyone says, the metal chocobo theme (Crazy Chocobo) is the best thing ever.

I'm not sure if I hate the game's theme (New World) or I just heard it too many times when SquareEnix was playing it on loop at that event Del and I went to.

The heavy metal vocal tracks are dumb. Also I lol at the chocobo theme where it softly sings 'chocobo' in the background. Also all the vocal stuff about saving the future and finding treasure is dumb. But the music itself is nice and it fits the game.

Hm... Try as I might, I am in complete agreement with Del Murder, and have nothing at all of value to add to the discussion. (But the final boss battle's music is awesome!) In terms of how strongly the music grabs you/your attention, I'd say it is a little more subtle than Blade Runner. The music doesn't appeal to me as much, though, but at least nothing will jump out and stab you in the ears with a rusty pitchfork.

I think the soundtrack is fantastic. I don't think I dislike more than like one or two tracks on it. Metal Chocobo being one of them. I find most of the vocal tracks to be pretty, even if the lyrics from time to time are a bit silly. I don't pay much attention to actual lyrics anyway.

Then again, I am a big fan of the electronic music genres that many of the tracks draw inspiration from.

I like the metal chocobo song. I dislike the metal boss theme, which involves much more screaming and far less growly-singing-about-chocobos. A little too metal for me.

160 fragments and a bs secret ending clip later I can officially say i wasted money on an incomplete rip-off game that makes FFX-2 look good. Since I wasn't expecting much I'm only disappointing in myself for buying the game in the first place. However it had a decent soundtrack so i will list some of my favorites.

Historia Crux Theme
Paradox Song
Caius theme and the version played in Academia 400 AF
Noel's Theme
Ruined Hometown(this by far is my favorite)
Labrynth of Chaos(reminds me of a mixture between Parasite Eve original and Silent Hill with the Siren in the background)
New World (This one is a guilty pleasure hehehe.. i want to dislike it cuz it sounds like a cheesy 80's pop love song, but i actually really like it)

and of course i found it comforting to hear some of the best tracks from FF13 that was randomly thrown in this game such as....

Blinded by Light
Will to Fight
The Yaschas Massif
Pulse Chocobo Theme
among many others I can't recall at this moment

Best thing about this game was the music.

Actually, I like the boss metal thing, but i dislike the metal chocobo a lot.
