Religions. Espionage. Redone AI. Diplomacy. New Units. New Techs. Celts. Byzantine. Carthage. Mayans. Netherlands.

Check it out here (http://www.2kgames.com/blog/civilization-v-expansion-pack-announced).

I'm excited. 9 new civs and adding some excellent features missing from Civ V. :D Who else is excited?

It'll take more than adding features long since present in Civ IV to make Civ V a good game.

I think Civ V is a good game. I think it's merely not an excellent game, and that's unfortunate. Hopefully, Civ will become better.

I'm trying really really really hard not to say something snarky but I keep looking at Laddy's list in the OP and mentally checkmarking "Was in Civ IV" for every point. :(

That said maybe I'll give Civ V another whirl with this expac.

I can't wait for them to bring out a game that has everything in the previous version and more. These days it seems like they sacrifice one thing for another, than charge you to get that other thing back in.

Expansions are a'ight. Those are things I remember from that one time I tried to play Civ IV a long time ago when I was still unaware.

I think Civ V is an excellent starting place for new players though so I'm looking forward to getting back into it.

Civ V is not a good game. And whilst restoring things that should have been there in the first place is good, it's not going to be a good game, because the major problems with it - pacing, failure to reward the player, failure to feel like you're advancing - all stem ultimately from the 1UPT system.

I'm with MILF on this. It's been pretty wonky. Multiplayer is okay, but the ai is terrible.

So I just got Civ 5 on the Steam sale. I like the game just fine after playing one game. Keep in mind that I have not played a civilization game since Civ 2. That said this game seems to be on the same level as Civ 2 in terms of how everything works. It is like the series hasn't advanced at all in the past...16 years? I like this one better than Civ 2 as everything seems more streamlined, management makes more sense, interfaces are better. I really liked Civ 2 so I am happy.

Although this is missing the totally kick ass music from Civ 2 :/
