So i hear chocobo racing is the way to go to get this trophy.
But i have a question. Do i need to earn 10,000 coins without losing at all?
If i make say 5000 coins with my Chocobo and then retrieve him. Then re enter him and earn another 5000 coins will it count? Or does it have to be consecutive?

Official strategy guide just says 10,000 total, so all in total I would say. You can do it on the slots, too, but races are easiest.

Chocobo's is easiest, I did it with 3 runs on the races (i.e 3 uses of 600 stamina) winning 3-4k each time.

Found this out the hard way so I thought I'd share. The guide doesn't mention this tidbit but it was certainly true for me. It seems you have to win the 10,000 coins in one trip to Serendipity. It doesn't matter if you do it on the slots, chocobo races, or combination of them. It also doesn't matter if you retire your chocobo and re-enter him. The only detail that matters is you can't go back to the historia crux and return until you've won 10,000 coins in one trip.
For me, I had left the controller rubber banded one night to get the coin fragment, so at least 7,777 coins won there. I promptly returned to the crux in the morning after getting it. Later that day I returned to race, won 5,000+ coins on the races, didn't get the trophy and wondered what was up. I started reading forums and someone suggested the one trip thing. I returned and won another 5,000+ coins on races, no trophy, so over 18,000 total at that point. I then entered a third time and got the trophy with a couple races left on my chocobo's RP, which was the 10,000th coin in that trip to the casino.
