Saved by the Bell is perhaps one of my all time favorite shows ever. I have managed to watch every single episode from the very beginning from it was known as Good Morning Miss Bliss, to the point where they finally graduated from Bayside High School. I've seen several episodes of the spin-offs, but in my opinion I could really never get a feel for them, especially The New Class. It just wasn't the same without the original gang. -_- Anyway, let's talk about this show!

By the way, Mr. Belding is best principle.

I agree this show was awesome. Even though Kelly was clearly hot, Lisa was my favourite. I remember wishing I was blonde so I could be more like Zack.

Am I right in think that Dustin Diamond (Screech) was in a porn video at some point?

One thing I never got (aside from the time out thing of course) was why, and how they graduated twice. There was a finale episode when they graduated (and they openly refer to it, as "Their last night at Bayside".) and there was a storyline about who was going to be the invalidvictorian. Then they had at least an entire other season with Kelly and Jessie gone, and a new girl in their places (just one new girl), and then they had another finale episode, where they graduated, and the main storyline was that there was a contest to sing a song, and Zack and Screech entered (Zack cheated). So why graduate twice?

Once that's done, I'll get to remembering scenes that I liked, if anyone's interested.

Saved by the Bell was awful. The New Class and The College Years were even worse.

Yeah. The show was never consistent with its storyline and background, and I think that's why they graduated twice. In several episodes, they would introduce a new student, who would never show up again. There was a two episodes story where Jessie's step-brother moved in from New York. At the end, he moved back to New York and was never mentioned again by the gang.

I agree. The show was pretty bad, but I think that's what made it had its charm to me. The spin-offs were just terrible.

I liked watching it, but I hated the spin offs. They were so, so bad.

Yeah. The show was never consistent with its storyline and background, and I think that's why they graduated twice. In several episodes, they would introduce a new student, who would never show up again. Sounds about right; I think all the "High School" shows I used to watch had episodes where that would happen. The worst time is when one of the main characters gained a girlfriend/boyfriend in the episode, and nothing was even remotley implied to break them up at the end, yet they'd not be seen again or even mentioned - it was especially strange if the episode made the character go through an entire trial in order to get the girl/guy. Still enjoyed the show though :)

My favorite was that episode of Boy Meets World where a student who disappeared from the show many seasons ago without explanation shows up, and Corey and Shaun are like, "wtf where have you been?" and the kid is like "oh, my classes are all over that way" while pointing off camera, and Corey and Shaun say "oh. We don't go on that side of the school. You go over there and you might never come back." with a slightly horrified look.

That's an entirely different show, Jessweeee! Though, Boy Meets World is a better show overall.

I think Jess was just using that as an example of shows that have characters one episode characters dissapear for no reason, and in this case managed to make fun of it.

Any way, back to Saved by the Bell for those who are interested, here are a few scenes that I remember liking, be warned I tend to remember trivial things, sometimes I'm not even sure what the whole episode was about, just the scene.

1. In the second graduation episode, after everyone else finds out Zack cheated to win the chance to sing a song for Bayside, they get him to drink something (not sure what) and his song comes out all garbled and weird, the backing singers jokingly sang the same things he did. I really want to see that again somehow...

2. Screech sees Lisa stand up and spread her arms out and run towards him in slow motion, set to romantic music so he does the same. The two of them run (in slow motion) to each other like two lost lovers as the music continues to play in the background... and then Lisa runs past Screech and some random guy we don't know appears suddenly with his arms spread out, and he and Lisa hold each other ( she was running to him, not Screech) and Screech runs back to his seat in sped-up motion.

3. Mr. Belding's brother arives at the school and someone (I think Screech) says something like "Two Beldings in one building, and one of them is balding."

That's all I can think of for now, but I'm sure there's more.

“Let us contemplate the mystery of Richie’s older brother Chuck, who ascended the stairs with his basketball at the end of the first season, and never came down again.”

The New Class was painful to watch. I never saw more than the intro of The College Years.

I remember Saved By the Bell being a really cheesy show with bad acting. It was what me and my sister watched after all the Saturday morning cartoons were over because we were too poor for cable and there was nothing else to watch with our rabbit ears. :p

college years was annoying and completely illogical. But I watched a few episodes. I think it had one season ?

I actually own seasons 1-4 of SBTB on DVD. They don't have season 5 (which btw plot wise makes no sense - Jesse is nowhere to be found and some transfer student covers for her) so I had to download it.

The new class. Ugh and a half.

BTW if you actually watch the first season the continuity is all out of whack.

best show ever. I watched it in grade school iirc and it's definitely identical to high school. Yep :colbert:

The only episode I remember in any form of detail from "The College Years" is when Screech tried to join some fraternity group (or however the hell you spell that). Everything else is just a blur with the odd line of dialogue thrown in, and there's a chance I'm getting some of them confused with something else.

Didn't bother with the new cast as a kid, because I was a kid, and I was all like "You totally changed my show!" I dunno what I'll think of it now that I insist on being more open minded about things.

The College years sucked, the original series was awesome. I still watch it if I can catch it in the mornings.

Boy Meets World was just funnier all around. Especially Corey with his old man sensibilities. And Rider Strong was hoooooot.

I hate saved by the bell.
