View Full Version : Uncommon Pairings

While deep in an enthralling conversation about the deliciousness of milk I happened to tell a person, a person I believed to be a great friend to me, of the wonderment of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a cup of hot chicken soup and a glass of cold milk. I then said I dip the sandwich in the soup and was swiftly, without ceremony, on the receiving end of JUDGEMENT and SADNESS.

What are some weird pairing choices you make in your personal life? Your food life? Do your friends ridicule you and make a spectacle of you?

BOU x Unne doesn't count.

Mustard and Pretzels, I love the combination, but everyone else seems to think it is disgusting.
I also put mashed potatoes on my sandwiches.

I like to eat spaghetti while fully nude.

Does this count as strange?

Who doesn't do that?

You disgust me, fettuccine is the only pasta that goes with nudity.

Hollycat

That's disgusting, how can you eat any noodle other than linguine whilst nude?

Similar to foa's stupid idea except that it isn't stupid, I like to dip bananas in tomato soup.

I've got to try that sometime.
I like to cover banana slices in strawberry jam and freeze them, is that weird?

I dip fries in milkshakes? Is that odd?

Jiro

I dip burgers in thickshakes/sundaes/etc. Fries isn't weird.

Pretty sure that's normal, Freya. Also amazing.

MEGAN YOU ARE STRANGE AND THAT IS GROSS.

Fries + soft-serve tastes like doughnuts.

oh that is like a hundred times stupider. How did you even get a banana near.nearing tomato soup? Was it an accident like in Reese's commercials or Sid you do that intentionally?

I remember a discussion with someone about how you should never eat citrus and dairy because it fucks you up or gives you the runs or something. This confused me as I love eating a clementine and washing it down with milk. I've never experienced any bowel problems because of it either.

There was no earthquake :mad2:

As soon as I finish with my teleporter that I have been building for the sole purpose of meeting people off the internet, we will do so.

EDIT: GUYS I THINK THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG.

Some people think it's weird that most of what I listen to these days is metal and electronic music. I will go back and forth between genres when listening to music.

Another thing that gets me weird looks is putting peanut butter on my hamburgers sometimes. I tried it once at a restaurant and I liked it.

I've been told I'm weird for ordering the 'inglese' pizza from the Italian restaurant chain 'Croma' here in the UK. It's basically a full breakfast pizza with sausage, bacon, tomato and a fried egg in the middle.

I combined 'being drunk' with 'reading a book' once... never try this. Ever. It is simply horrible.

I can't think of any weird things, but some have told me I'm odd for putting ketchup on my mashed potatoes.

I usually go to the opposite extreme. I get genuinely offended at certain food combinations, so much so that if I see someone eating something I think is weird, I actually lose my appetite. I also have this weird thing where I can't have my foods touch unless I do it intentionally. So like if I have mashed potatoes and a steak, if my potatoes touch my steak I can't eat the parts of the steak and the potatoes that touched.

That's not a "weird thing" shion. That's being horribly spoiled.

Ketchup goes on everything. It's a universal sauce.

The only 2 examples that spring to mind are fries with curry sauce & melted cheese or Jack Daniels with Club Lemon/Fanta icey lemon. Both are really really nice!

Eww, you're just like one of my friends. He drowns his burgers in ketchup. And then my heart hurts and I cry a little for the death of that burger's taste.

There is a difference between putting some ketchup on your burger and having a side of burger with your ketchup.

This creation is really worth trying though foa. A guy I used to hang around with in college introduced me to it & I couldn't believe to this day how nice it was. As a result I've gone on to introduce this wonderful mixture to several people who all love it as well. Had a couple of them last weekend for the 1st time in a few years & they were alcohol heaven!

My family used to make peanutbutter+mayonaise sandwiches. Which is apparently quite common in certain areas of the States. But for people not from those areas, WTF looks are just as common when the topic comes up. I haven't had one since I was a child though
