Squeenix (https://member.eu.square-enix.com/en/blogs/theatrhythm-final-fantasy-coming-europe) announce European release date for THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY on 3DS in all Pal Territories. Coming in Summer 2012.

I'd be excited if I had a 3DS!

Now we just need to know when it's coming out in America.

SquareEnix announced via Facebook yesterday that Theatrhythm would be released in North America, Europe, and PAL territories this summer. A more specific release date has not been announced.

Shluppers: This is why the special forum is dumb (http://home.eyesonff.com/initiative/141981-theatrhythm-final-fantasy-come-us-europe.html). :p

It does look cute, though I can't get too worked up about a rhythm game.

I don't disagree with you. Except about the rhythm game part; it looks cute and has gotten good reviews. I would feel like a jackass buying a 3DS when I already have a DS Lite though.

Didn't want to make a new thread here since I posted elsewhere about it, but wanted to at least bump this up with new information!

Release date is July 3rd in North America.

That's like saying you'd feel like a jackass buying a PS3 because you already have a PS2.

Do you like Elite Beat Agents?

Do you like Final Fantasy songs?

You might like theatrhythm

I was kinda disappointed the gameplay was wholly touchscreen based (at least in the demo I played), and it seemed that what you did compared to what the prompts were was simplified-- there are four characters on screen and I guess you can equip them with stuff, but you tap the same way for all characters. I was tapping higher and lower on teh touchscreen based on where the prompts came up, but it didn't seem to actually affect anything if you were in what I figured would be a wrong spot.

it seems like a bad mixture though, mixing rpg style fighting with rhythm games; it'd have been more fun if the characters were rocking out or moving around, but I guess that takes more money to animate.
