These have a reputation for being bad, but there are definitely some gems out there.

I'll start us out on a high note:

What a great game this was. I poured so many hours into it.

Also, in before that picture with the gun shooped out so it looks like Bond has a giant mouth.

Bug's life is still an enjoyable platformer.

Err...isn't that it?

Yes.

Actually, Aladdin for Super Nintendo and Genesis was pretty fun. I also liked Lion King.

And there's several good Star Wars games, though the best ones aren't based directly on the movies.

So I guess there are a few more. But Goldeneye is on a whole different level. I probably played that game more than any other N64 game.

I've played some real stinkers when it comes to this, as I'm sure we all have, but this was, in my opinion, the best video game based off of a movie ever created.

Edit: I MAKE ONE POST AFTER GOD ONLY KNOWS HOW LONG AND DEL FREAKING MURDER BEATS ME TO IT!

I always enjoyed the Aladdin and Lion King games for the SNES.

Lord of the Rings: The Third Age

I was just actually telling Freya last night how much I enjoy this game. It's based on the game, but you're in another fellowship of your own, that's following the Fellowship. You get to fight with Gandalf the Grey, Legolas, Gimli, Aragorn, Gandalf the White, and Eowyn all at some point. It's pretty fantastic.

I played that... it was fun but the fights took too long :(

The recent Batman games, while not directly tied to the movies, are fantastic.

EDIT: I've been told Alien vs. Predator is quite good. Robocop vs. Terminator was great fun back in the day. More based off a book, but still a movie was made before the game - the Dune games (RPG and RTS alike) should get an honourable mention. :)

I remember this game! It was great.

The first couple Rouge Squadron games were very good. They dropped the ball pretty hard with the third one, though.

The game based on Spider-Man 2 has pretty bad combat, but swinging around Manhattan is so damn fun.

I'm glad you guys have brought up The Lion King because that was a pretty top-tier platformer.

The game tie-in to the movie adaptation of The Prince of Persia was apparently pretty good. Haven't played it myself, but I've heard good things!

I remember the old Toy Story games being pretty good, and I've heard that Toy Story 3 is a really decent game as well.

Scarface: The World Is Yours (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scarface:_The_World_Is_Yours)

Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jedi_Power_Battles)

These 3 are pretty decent

It's good, but it's not a tie in. It's just a fourth game in the Sands of Time game series. Has nothing to do with the movie aside from the obviously timely release.

I thoroughly enjoyed Scarface. Excellent game. Even the drug dealing was pretty fun!

I really enjoyed the Die Hard Trilogy that was on the original PS1.

It had it's flaws but I generally thought it was awesome!

Apparently the guy responsible for the webswinging mechanics in Spider-Man 2 is going to be at an event I'm going to next weekend. Should I get him to sign my copy of the game?

Scarface is one of my favourite games ever. Rockstar must have taken notice of it too because a few game design elements from it appear in GTAIV

The Godfather was a pretty awesome game. I'm usually lousy at combat in every game, but this one I was pretty badass in. I liked taking over areas, working your way up the ladder and such. It's kind of a GTA clone, but I like it much better than any GTA game I've played.

I like the Addams Family game for NES as well, but I'm biased as hell. I can recognize that it's in all actuality a horrible, horrible game.

Mission Impossible probably wasn't as good as I remember it being, but I found one particular mission very memorable. :P

In all seriousness, that game is awful. You were joking, right? Please tell me you were.

I didn't like The Third Age felt like a bad FFX knockoff, I preferred The Two Towers and Return of the King.
