...At least one of them, in my opinion. A lot of people seem to frown upon most of the songs Uematsu composed for this score, but for me, they stuck and clinged onto me from the very first moment I played the game.
I will never forget the sense of adventure I felt when I first heard "Ahead on Our Way", or the melancholic feeling that rushed over me when I heard "My Home, Sweet, Home". The joy I felt when I first heard "Tenderness in the Air", or the sadness I endured when I heard "Nostalgia" and "Lenna's Theme".
The piano version of the soundtrack is even better.
Is this the most underappreciated FF soundtrack of them all?

If were talking about FFV, I'd say:
Exdeath's battle theme
Searching for the Light
and Clash on the Big Bridge.

The FF5 soundtrack is probably a tad underrated. I might go as far to say I like the music more than the game itself. Personally my favorites are FF6 and FF7. I did read somewhere that Nobuo Uematsu said his favorite soundtracks to write were FFs 6, 7, and 8.
My favorite soundtracks were from FFVII. Probably because it's the first FF Series I've been introduced to. But still, the soundtracks are beautiful.

The songs were different enough to catch your attention. I think it's one of those games with a soundtrack you'll remember even if you played the game a really long time ago. I would have a hard time missing a song from Final Fantasy V even though I only played the game a couple of times.

One of the worst to me. Only III sucks more imo.

FF3 has some good moments. Some, not all. In general it's one of the weaker OSTs, but I do have sheet music for the boss battles from that game.

I do love the FFV OST. I've always felt it was the beginning of when Uematsu's overall soundtracks began to feel like music and reach some interesting depths as he got more accustomed to the hardware. The complexity of his musical scores is pretty noticeable looking back on the 16-bit era.
FFV has some of my favorite tracks in the series. Home Sweet Home, Battle on the Big Bridge, Deep Forest, Dear Friends and the Prologue theme. Unfortunately, it also has some of my least favorite tracks in the series like the World Map theme and battle theme. I would agree its one of the most underrated soundtracks in the franchise but I still feel FFII may be more deserving of the most underrated.

Indeed, I really love the Pandaemonium music, in my opinion the best final dungeon track ever.

I don't know about soundtrack, but as for individual song, I'm going to have to give it to FF IV revised opening, and One Winged Angel.
