So does anyone else have a tough time picking a favorite FF game? I know I do. I guess I'd pick FF6 if pressed but some of the others are really great too. I don't know, I just feel like I can never pick just one!

I can easily go 1. FFT, 2. FF7, 3. FF6. After that I don't think I can really choose.

Never tough. FFVI won when it was released and it still wins today.

VI or XII. It's a sadistic choice. Y u make me do dis?!

Apparently, my selections don't count because I've never played or completed I-VI, will never play XI or XIV, and have yet to try XIII because I don't own a "3"-console.

Vagrant Story.

If I had played FFVI when it was released then I'm pretty sure that would have edged it. As it is, VII was my first and greatest experience of the FF universe.

Hands Down Crisis Core. I am really hoping for a rerelease for vita or at least for it to be put on psn. Great game.

I usually have a tough time picking an absolute favorite. I tend to gravitate towards IV, V, VI, IX, and XII. I usually pick VI because its the title I have the most emotional and intellectuals ties to but I also feel that many in my list are either just as good or better in some ways.

I was never able to pick one from VII, VIII, IX and X. They're all better than the others in their own ways.

Nope. It is IV for me, and it will probably always be IV for me! Not to say that I don't understand that other people would have trouble picking, though.

Definitely IX, and not a hard choice for me. I loooove everything about it. Except Necron. WTF there. BUT OTHER THAN THAT.

Final Fantasy VII verry closley followed by Final Fantasy VIII are my favorites, but all the numbered games from Final Fantasy to Final Fantasy X, barring Final Fantasy III have special places in my heart. Although I will admit that FFX is lacking in places, but I still love it's better quallities. I am excluding FFIII because I have not played it. I may watch an LP of it soon.

That game is torturous. Even with a walkthrough, and even with save states on an emulator, that might be the hardest and least fun game I've ever played.

Indeed. There is a whole dungeon where you can pretty much only use magic, and there is no enemies that drop ethers and no stores available at that point

I can clearly see you guys have never played a MegaTen game... III is great, Nintendo hard, yes, but great nonetheless. You actually have to think about your every move and you will die if careless. But that's a good thing, considering every game nowadays basically points everything out to you.

Nintendo hard? isn't that an paradox?

Nintendo hard? isn't that an paradox?

Here's (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NintendoHard) an explanation and plenty of examples. I'm sorry, TVTropes just ruins people's vocabulary, you know? :D

none of those games (that I have played) seemed all that hard to me. ff3 is the only game I never finished besides GTA (all of them). I suppose that I should have tried the dungeon more than once. But anyways, nowadays, nintendo hard IS a paradox. Mostly.

I dunno. The Imprisoned in Skyward Sword was pretty damn punishing.

I have yet to complete any NG FFs. PS+ no prob. (I also beat the GTAs, Hypo... hehehe)

I also haven't beaten the first PE but just like the NG FFs it's for lack of effort. I just don't play them. Although there's something wrong with my PS version of FFI (or IV?). Last few times I played, I loaded my game and was somehow stuck in a cave. I mean the macro to transfer me from the "exit" to the next map was just gone. So I walk down and nothing happens. I'm stuck in this cave with nothing to communicate with. I would start over but I'm pretty sure I'd just get stuck here again.

I also haven't beaten the Chrono games...

IV, VI, VII, IX and X would all be right at the top for me. If I reeeaaally had to pick just one... probably VI

VII. I mean, I enjoy almost all the other games, but VII is still easily ahead of all of them for me. It's not even really a question in my head that I need to think about. Favourite? VII. Done. :) Second favourite? Now that is tricky. VIII? V? XII? XIII? Uaargh. Not to mention TA. Someday I'll play T and for some reason I'm certain it'll go high up my list, purely because it's like TA but supposedly better according to friends. Can't go wrong there!

Hopefully someday XV will overtake VII as the best. ;) Can't hurt to hope!

It is a very, very close call between FFVII, IX and X. For many reasons, the obvious choice would be FFVII.

It's got to be the atmosphere. That plus the materia system. That plus the uber-lone-samurai-super-villain. Or...

I used to have a hard time picking between VII-X, but after beating the series a few times I came to realize VII does well where each of those games have individual faults. When you take in the pacing of the game, the originality and variety of the environments, and the kick-ass soundtrack, it's a clear winner for me.

I never have a hard time picking a favourite. I pick III because nobody else does. If they did, then it would be a tough choice between III, IV, V, IX or XII. But because III needs more love, I pick III in such polls. One of the best games of all time.
