Square Enix Registers FinalFantasyVIIPC.com (http://www.gameranx.com/updates/id/7426/article/square-enix-registers-finalfantasyviipc-com/)

Some people have already jumped into the "It's a remake on PC!!!!" but I'm betting SE just might be getting ready to release the game on Steam or something. Thoughts?

Yup. I think that's it. If that's the case, I am going to use those crazy mods that were made over the years on the game if it's possible.

There's already a PC version. I believe it was published by Eidos (whom SE owns now). There's probably no remake coming at this point for the PC and I'm certain they're just covering their bases with 'domain squatters'.

It's brand protection. Often the companies themselves don't register the domain names, but brand protection services like MarkMonitor do it for them.

I was involved in a particular case where I took advantage of a company not protection their brand via domain registrations and ended up getting laughed at in the end: Original Registrant of CamRoulette.com Sued - Domain Name Wire (http://domainnamewire.com/2010/05/31/original-registrant-of-camroulette-com-sued/)

Here's another very appropriate situation: As talk of Final Fantasy VII remake heats up, Square gets FinalFantasyviiPC.com (http://fusible.com/2012/06/as-talk-of-final-fantasy-vii-remake-heats-up-square-gets-finalfantasyviipc-com/)

They claim that an FF7 remake isn't coming, but this domain was snatched up recently. People are talking about it, and with them shrugging it to side, right not is an opportune moment for people to squat on this brand and trend. So, they snatch it up.

either a rerelease of ff7 for pc so people can get it, or a new spinoff.

Probably "perfect collection". All the games on one disc for a current gen console, and maybe the AC movie as well.

Yes, why not?

that would be pretty cool. maybe they take it and do what they did with the older titles on the ps, and do new cgi scenes, and tweak the game play graphics just a bit but not too much. i'd love to have that. and to play VII, CC, and DoC on my xbox would be nice.

That will never happen, sorry pretty sure Sony owns the publishing rights to ffvii and all spinoffs.
