I love FFV. I really do. It's one of my favorite FFs of all time. I started the GBA version of this just a couple of days ago and... Dang, the battles feel slow! I mean, maybe it's because I just finished FFIV on the PSP, but while there the battle speed was on 2, there were times I could barely manage to keep up with my party, while here, I set it to one, and it all just seems kind of slow... I already got used to it, so I guess it doesn't bother me anyomore, but do any of you guys think this game's battles are kinda slow?

It's been a while since I played, but I never really noticed the battles being fast or slow. Now that you say it, it may have been a little on the slow side, but nothing too problematic for me.

It was at first, but then I got used to it. It was really fast at the final boss fight.

It's considerably faster when jumping from an old school version of FFIV (SNES/PS1/GBA). Still, it's been awhile since I did a playthrough, so you may be right. It's still early ATB so it's likely it is much slower from later installments.

The Final Fantasy Anthology version is slow, but that's due more to bad loading times and things like that. Plus it's really just not that good. The GBA version is the best one out there.

I am playing the GBA version and on the highest speed. But I got used to it and now I don't think it's slow anymore. But it's still weird that it's slower than FFIV on the PSP, cause I thought that version was identical to the GBA one, and only the DS version was faster. Time is a weird thing.

I just got the fire-powered ship repaired! :D This game is made of awesome!

The Gameboy Advance ports of Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, and Final Fantasy VI seem to run slower than their Super Nintendo counterparts. I think this is especially obvious with the first port of Final Fantasy IV as the lag in the gameplay leaves the game open to various bugs, such as characters getting an additional turn or not getting their turn at all.

I believe that the bugs were fixed for The European release.
