So, just for fun, I decided to ask my Google Navigator for driving instructions on how to get to Sydney, Australia from Lodi, CA and here are the result:

Lodi, CA to Sydney NSW, Australia - Google Maps (http://goo.gl/maps/CfDS)

I have a few questions concerning these directions:

1) Why do I have to go up to Washington just to Kayak to Hawaii?

2) Why do I have to go north to Japan before I go south to Australia?

3) What the hell am I suppose to do with my car when I am in the kayak?

I think these are legitimate questions that I need answers to right now! :hello:

Google seems content with navigating across the sea from Washington. No matter what you do, it tells you to head there. Maybe the ocean current is better?

It takes into account currents and the price of kayaks, duh!

Being a cheap bastard, my main concern is all the toll roads.

Unless they have some special commuter lane for kayaks, I just don't think it's very cost effective. :colbert:

Jiro, I'll be over in a bit.

All I have to do is jetski across the ocean.

Google used to have a bunch of easter eggs like this. I remember looking up directions from New York to London and being told to swim across the Atlantic Ocean.

Well, Google should update it's information to include new inventions like this HSA (High Speed Amphibian) vehicle! :hello:

The boat/car amphibious veichle only does 30+ on water. Thats still several days and probably more fuel than it can carry to go there. I would consider that if it was a solar/wind/tidal powered electric engine or hybrid engine.
