Okay so here is the set up this time around. This is not going to be an elimination style tournament. Rather, we're competing for the hi-score of this karaoke arcade disaster that I am running this year. So each round, contestants will compete based upon the guidelines of that round, and afterwards, the good er... bearable people of EoFF will vote for their favorites. These votes will be counted as points to go towards your score and whoever has the highest score by the end will end. Because of this model, you are free pick and choose which rounds you wish to participate in and you are free to quit whenever you want. It just means you lose out on points that can nab you victory (unless you're really good and nab lots of points in the later rounds) which means you won't win our fabulous prize. Yes, we have a prize for this thing. Also, if anyone wishes to join mid-game that didn't sign up initially, you are free to do so as well, though you may have the same stiff competition as those who chose to skip a round.

Each round is going to have a theme, and you will have one week to record your song with something like Dropbox or any other recording poison you favor and then I'll post the results and the voting will begin. If you need an extension due to life, I can give you a day or two but no longer, I wish to keep this event running quickly so we can get over this. If I get all the songs before the week is up, I'll post them early and we can get this done even faster...*hint hint*

Here are the Themed Rounds:

1st Round - Player's Chose - Exactly what it says on the tin...
2nd Round - I Love the 80s - Choose your favorite 80s theme (or one you can tolerate) and sing your little Cindi Lauper heart out!
3rd Round - Pretty Little Princess - Choose your favorite Disney Princess song (even the guys) and belt it like Disney was going to pay you big bucks for it.
Final Round - ????? - It's a surprise...

So we are going to be starting now, so we're in Round 1 which means you get to choose whatever you want to sing and PM the recording to me. You have a week. :p

Okay, so I have ran into quite a few problems with a few people's entries. Mainly, I can't get some of your entries to play because dropbox seems to hate any file that isn't wav. format. I'm also still waiting for a few more entries and some other issues have also propped up, so I will have to delay this for 24 hours or until I can get this sorted out. If I sent you an mognet message for technical issues, you may want to try using Proto's uploading program he recommended (http://www.muziboo.com/) because that has worked out pretty well.

Hopefully I can get the first round up soon, and I'll be better about checking submissions in the future rounds. Stay Tuned...

So for this round everyone can choose a song from the 80s to sing, but I'm going to make this interesting. You see,
I LOVE THE 80S so I have my own ideas of what should be considered the quintessential 80s mix-tape.

I've selected 20 songs that I feel should be in a 80s Mix-Tape and I will give a 2x bonus for anyone who sings one of my 20 song choices. The thing is, I'm not telling you what they are, so you have to guess what I am thinking of, or you can choose to ignore this and do whatever you want. It's completely optional. Just so you know, I've limited one hit per artist, so don't think that going through all of Michael Jackson, Madonna, or Duran Duran's big 80s hits will be a sure thing to get the bonus.

Alright people, we interrupt the usual flow of this contest cause someone hit the high score and it's time for a challenge bonus round!!!!

This Round is completely optional and has different rules than our regular tournament. Their can be only one winner, and I get to decide who they are though I will take comments from other members into consideration. The winner of the bonus round gets to double the score they earn either in the current I Love the 80s round, or they can gamble and use it for the next round, the Pretty Little Princess Round. :jess:

So what do you get to sing? We're going to do Video game themes for this bonus round, but I am not talking about lyrical songs like Eyes on Me. I actually mean Video Game themes.

I can't give you an example, since I might do that track. What I meant was there are pravda when vocals are used, but they just sing "ooh" and "aah"... Ok, here's an example - Orphan of Flame from Chrono Cross - you get your instruments and you male and female voices, but no words. I need to clear something up for a few players concerning this round. You are restricted to using only songs being sung by the Disney Princesses, you can't just do songs from movies that featured them, though I am willing to accept a song they only partially sing like Belle, Beast, and Ensembles "Something there that wasn't there before" as long as the Princess sings part of it, I will accept it.

I was looking forward to the last round, considering how built up the whole mystery theme was, but I guess that if the interest in this tournament has died down so severely, there may be no other choice. So in a nutshell, I'm OK with whatever you decide, WK.

Maybe, due to the lack of submissions in the Disney Princess round, WK could see it in his heart to allow my entry? Here is my reasoning...

- I understand that the song 'Kiss the Girl' does not feature the beautiful voice of Arial. However, this is not entirely her fault due to the evil Ursula doing a "swappsy" for a pair of legs. Had she been able to, I'm sure she would have added an extra, heavenly dimension to the song.
- Even though her voice can not be heard, the song is clearly centred around the Disney princess in question. All focus is directed to Arial and the many colourful, sea-bound creatures try their level best to compensate for her lack of vocal input.
- Also, I attempted to make up for the lack of princess voice by doing two separate voices in the song. There is my own voice of course... and an extremely poor Trinidadian crab voice which has to be heard to be believed.
- Finally, if you refer to the official 'Ultimate Disney Princesses' cd then you will see that track nine on side one is none other than "Kiss the Girl".
