I love you for making these three the first on your list. You couldn't have picked a better selection to lead off with.
I'm not really anywhere near as familiar with comedy as you are. But yeah, Carlin and Hicks in particular are probably my all-time favourites.
Other great ones include Lewis Black, Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, Monty Python, Tom Lehrer, Dave Chappelle and probably a ton of others I'm forgetting.

Louis CK, Sarah Silverman (I wish her show on Comedy Central hadn't been canceled :(), and occasionally Lisa Lampanelli when I'm in the mood to listen to bitchy-funny with no class or subtlety (although I guess the same could be said for Silverman)...yeah, she's my guilty pleasure.
