Well, this is my starting off Mogblog for the Cid's Knight competition. I know I've only been on EOFF for a few days and there are plenty of older members whom you know better, but I just want to give it a shot. I may not be the most promising candidate, but I hope you'll give me the chance to compete. Even if I'm not successful, I'll still have the chance to get to know you guys better!

Okay, this first blog is to answer the first CK challenge. Here are my answers:

What makes a good member? For any forum, I'd say that a good member always contributes to the site, or to the activity of the forum. I've always been inclined to think that the best members are easy to talk to and get along with, cause no dramas and are there for other members of the forum, including the staff. Meaningful posts on the forum are a must, detailed or at least signs of the post being researched or thought about carefully. Most of all, good members are warm and welcoming, happy, polite and easy to get along with.

What makes a good CK? This is a little tricky. Each CK on this site, I've noticed, has their own way of doing their job and adding their own personal flare into what they do. For me, I'd say that CK's that do their job well are the members that take time and pride into what they do, take their time for other members and have patience for anyone who may have any queries or problems. There's no point in being a CK if all you want it for is to boss other members around or just all round abuse it. Any kind of mod, regardless where, needs to have their own character, good sense of humour and a patient attitude. Bad CK's (or mods), in my opinion, tend to show favouritism to certain members or have an elitist attitude, just because of their position.

What would you like to change on Eyeson to make it better? In all honesty, the site itself is pretty well run already, FAQs and other help sections are quickly answered and the newbies (such as myself) feel well greeted. I think I would like to make the newbies a little more informed about how the site runs, be a little firmer on bad attitudes or melodrama of members and encourage others to make newbies and other not-so well known members feel included. I've noticed that there tend to be little cliques within the forum (most forums do, unfortunately) and popularity contests seem to run throughout. I know I can't change the way people think, but I would like to optimistically aim for a more inclusive atmosphere.

What colour would you like your CK tag to be? Anything, really. I'm rather fond of the colour blue, but sometimes it's not really that visible, especially to people who may have difficulty reading colours anyway. So, I'm not fussy, as long as people can see it without any problems.

If you were thrown into the thunderdome with one of the current staff, who would it be and what would be your tactic? Oh, dear. I'm not really the aggressive type. I think I'd just try to clamber out of the dome or escape somehow. If I was forced to, I'd have to go with Pike and just try and .. use my feminine whiles? (scratch that) I'd go with talking, try and make a plan of escape or plan a way of staging the fight and neither of us getting hurt. There's no need to fight.

What does FF(and EoFF) mean to you? I've played Final Fantasy since I was about seven or eight years old. My older brother was already a fan and gave me a copy of Final Fantasy VII for my birthday. The moment I played the game I fell in love with it, my parents had to unplug the PlayStation to even get me away from the game to eat. Later on I was given Final Fantasy VIII and I clicked with Squall almost instantly. If you scratch the whining, we're both very quiet and reserved people and it was nice to have a person (even though fictional) to relate to. I had a difficult childhood for many personal reasons and the game was a great escape from reality for me. I'm now twenty-one years of age and still play the games; my older brother is now twenty-four and has 'grown out' of them so I acquired all of the games he has collected, including his limited edition FF VIII. I know not many FF fans favour the eigth instalment, personally I can't see why, but it means a lot to me in sentimental value. I realise this is a very sappy and cliché story, but it is 100% true. As for EoFF I haven't been here long enough to make an impact on any of you, probably 99% of you haven't got a clue who I am. But I have wandered the forum and have seen some amazing people who are incredibly intelligent and have such unique personalities, it's just nice to feel like I belong somewhere. Geekiness doesn't do much justice to a Law Student in England, so I don't have many friends. So EoFF means a place to belong to me and feel included.

Three threads I have made:

You're off to a good start! Keep your chin up; you've contributed more to the site in the few days you've been here than most people have in their entire stay!

If you have any concerns or questions, I can try and give you some advice as a former superstar Cid's Knight :aimsun:

We use to have a Newbie welcoming group. We'd reach out to every newbie and just try to ease them in but it's floundered the past few years since the people doing it (me :shifty: included) have been busy/lazy. We should probably bring that back...

Nice threads! You're doing great, keep it up!

I like how you picked me :jess: Your feminine wiles would not work, however, as I am also female! (For now.)

Don't lie Pike, they would so still work on you. You'd try and adopt her or something.

Hello beep.

I am Psychotic. We've not met.

I am an Admin. Aka a God.

I mean I'm one of the lesser gods that's in charge of like, cement or something. God of Cement.

But I am still a God and I still get to go to God parties and you will still worship, fear and love me :colbert:

(please be my friend i don't have any friends :()

I just want to say I really like your walkthroughs. You've also impressed me with your attitude so far. Who knows, we could have a cinderella story on our hands with a newbie winning the whole competition!

Thank you very much, I've been very chuffed with the comments of other members. I'll keep trying my best :D
