Shorty's Round 1 Bob Loblaw Mog Blog Confession
As requested by the gracious and lovely host of the Eyeson Idol CK Competition, this is my mog blog thread containing all of my super secret answers to the round one question!
1) What makes a good member?
A good member is made of an equal balance of participation and respect for the others on the board. This entire forum is about participation - whether it's with creating threads or responding to them, creating events or playing a part in them, utilizing the member blogs or even playing the new Triple Triad games - the only way this forum thrives is by participation by the members. Let's not fool ourselves by thinking that there's massive waves of courtesy floating around here. But there are indeed those members who maintain respect and tact when perhaps dealing with a heated debate that could otherwise turn nasty if there wasn't a respect for the other member's opinion. That, to me, makes a good member. A sense of humor doesn't hurt, either.
2) What makes a good CK?
There's a lot of nonsense on this board (it's mostly nonsense, really), but the members here know how to make the place fun and entertaining. A good CK is someone who knows to determine the difference between a joke and an rude attack and who knows where and when to step in and break up an inappropriate discussion or to let someone know that what they post isn't okay. Most importantly, though, they know how to have fun!
3) What would you like to change about Eyeson to make it better?
We've had a few events lately and that's what I love to see. I'd really like to see one event pop up atleast every month, but that might be too much to ask. Is the event committee even utilized anymore? Maybe a revamp can be done to get more people involved in things like that. Maybe even a competition to who can recruit the most members to bring a little spice (and newbies) to the forums.
4) What color would you prefer your CK tag to be?
Teal!
5)If you were to be thrown into the thunderdome with one of the current staff, who would you go against and what would be your tactic?
I would looooove to throw down with foapants. She would be a tough challenge but if I won I could stand on her face with my fists in the air like a champion. My tactic would be to hop around making her tired enough to the point that I could jump on her back and choke her pipes until she passed out because my swings and punches would be essentially useless.
6) What does FF(and EoFF) mean to you?
Love and friendship! Perhaps the lamest possible answer, but it's true. The underlying moral of each of the FF games is always the same. We all have an interest in Final Fantasy as a common denominator, but friendship has been the thing that has kept me coming back to this place for eleven years now. I haven't always been an incredibly active member, but the friends that I've met here have been in my life one way or another, even if I've been away. The members of this community share a bond that I have yet to find anywhere else, and that's why I love it here and will continue to keep coming back.
Dusting off the lower forums has made me realize how sad they are and that they need more attention! This challenge to post more down there has made consider replaying/playing some games for the first time, regardless of what happens with this competition.
