The events committee has decided to bring back Eyeson Plays for the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy. The first of many popular titles, Final Fantasy X will be the first greatest hits we play. Join Vivi22, Jiro, and myself in the grand adventure!

If you haven't played Final fantasy X or haven't in a long time this is the perfect opportunity to do so! You'll be able to join the rest of us as we make our trek through this fine game one more time. All you have to do is join in on our discussions and activities! If you don't feel up to replaying it you don't have to but you can always join in with the talks at least.

Now not only can you just play it but you can join in on some of the challenges as well! Now, we wont be fickle about this and require lots of screenshots but if you'd like to provide some, feel free. Otherwise, we'll take your word for it.

I am totally after that title people. But I work full time so hopefully other people are going to try for it too so I'm not alone. Honestly, there are probably lot's of FFX experts around so I fully expect to get trounced on this one.

EDIT: I'm debating whether to solo character it though. I feel like getting Kimahri's blue magic is probably easier/faster to do but if I want to solo a character, I'm pretty sure the last character I'd want to use would be Kimahri with his limited early sphere grid.

Double edit: cutscenes do not play smoothly for me in PCSX2. I may need to rip the ISO to see if that cuts down on the problem.

Well, another part of my problem is that I don't use an emulator, so any screen shots will be difficult to procure and look like crap! Granted, I wouldn't take on most of the challenges. I would do a fairly basic playthrough, but still.

My computer's hardware is too old to pull off PS2 emulation, so I've been playing on my PS2. To be honest, FFX doesn't look that bad on an HDTV. Nowhere near as terrible as FFXII does, at least.

I wish this thread would have been made earlier. I started a new game a few days ago and I'm already at Mt. Gagazet. I've been using the Sphere Grid, and I lost my first game of Blitzball.

I'm tempted to start another file and try this even still. :p

So I'm about to embark on my Final Fantasy X journey. Because I don't have access to emulation and photographing my tv is inefficient as fuck, there will be no images. To make up for this, I will be posting excerpts from the journal Tidus takes on the journey. You know the one. The one I just invented right then so I can do something kind of comical!

I did win the first game of blitzball. 1) you have to get jecht shot on the ship. 2) spend the first half passing ball back and forth between aurochs to level them up. 3) Use jecht shot at end of half- maybe get lucky for goal, if not you have to use it pretty quickly in 2nd before tidus gets pulled.

4) Watch the neat scene of them carrying the trophy.

First Entry
Big game's today. Fucking Duggles are rough as guts but I can handle them. I've got a secret technique hidden up the slightly longer leg of my pants; the Tidus Shot. Haven't tried it out yet but I'm pretty sure it'll work. We better win this game because my agent has some pretty killer deals lined up. I might have my own clothing line by the end of it. Heck, maybe even a guest spot on my favourite soapie, Neighbours.

Little bit worried about accidentally getting a boner during the game. I don't know. Something about the water just makes me aroused. Maybe if I keep reminding myself it's the Jecht memorial match then it'll die down. Gosh I hate my father. Hope some big ugly whale ate his face.

Second Entry
A big ugly whale attacked. Zanarkand got pretty fucked up. Think everyone's dead. Sucks, we were winning the match too. Saw uncle Auron, he's looking older. I think he's going senile. He just blabbered some shit at me and then disappeared. Maybe those little kids slipped me some wild mushrooms or something. I'm stuck here in this shitty little rundown temple somewhere and I don't know but I am so hungry. Tempted to eat the paper out of my journal. Might die if I do that though. I burned a couple pages to try and make sure I didn't get pneumonia. That's a stupid fucking word.

I tried stabbing some giant bugs with the sword Auron gave me. He said Jecht gave it to him but I think he forgot that my old man died like ten fucking years ago. Or maybe Auron is just a bit crazy. I dunno. Still, whatever that big ugly whale thing was, I don't like it. The bugs don't taste good either. Might have to search for food elsewhere. I don't know what to do now though. No idea where I am or even where I can find a warm shower and some food. I'm supposed to be an elite athlete, where are the crazy stalker fans when you need them?

Third Entry
So this hot foreign chick beat the shit out of me. I woke up on her boat surrounded by weird hairy foreign dudes. Not my idea of a good time. At least they fed me, though! It was pretty delicious but then the last thing I'd eaten was some moss I found growing on a rock so I can't really say for sure. So this boat is pretty cool. Doesn't have a sail, but it does have a crane. I wonder if they ever try and snatch up dolphins or anything? It's like one of those crazy claw games I used to play.

So apparently I'm going to be working with the crazy hairy foreign dudes in exchange for food. I don't like the sound of that, but at least I'm not going to be hungry. They could at least offer me a fucking towel or blanket though. The metal floor on this boat is numbing my ass. I'm just glad to finally be dry. I'm never going near water again. Not even for blitzball. When I get home I'm going to become a full time actor. I think comedy is my thing. Otherwise I'll take up modelling underwear or something. I just fucking hate water.

Fourth Entry
I have a sneaking suspicion that there is a God, and he hates me. So "work" with the hairy foreign guys wasn't making weird gay pornos (I thought that would've been alright to be honest) but it involved fucking swimming down into some underwater ruin and fucking around with electrical stuff. Apart from the obvious danger of drowning and electrocution, I also got attacked by a crazy fucking squid. Great. And the hot foreign chick whose name is apparently Rikku thought it was a good idea to use some grenades. I'm not even kidding. I don't know how I made it out of there alive.

Well that's a lie. I sort of know how. I got thrown off the fucking boat by that stupid fucking whale. It's called Sin but I don't even care. It made me wet one too many times. I need to kick its fucking ass. Washed up on the beach of this random island. Everyone here is weird and has names with double letters. Also this one guy has orange hair that sticks up like he just hasn't heard of gravity. His name is Wakka and he's apparently the coach and captain of their blitzball team. They're shit man. You don't even know how terrible these guys are. Can't even pass on land, let alone in the blitz stadium. I don't know if they've got any money but maybe I can play a few games with these guys until I can afford a ticket home.

Anyway I better stop writing this and start listening because I think this Wakka guy is talking to me again.

I haven't actually played FFX since it was first released, so it is overdue, even if I am not a fan of the game. I've been meaning to play many of the FFs that I don't remember as well, and maybe starting with this event will help encourage me to finish.

I started playing last night, actually, and got to Kilika today before I realized I should probably post in this thread. :p I'll try to remember to take more screenshots as I go on.

Fifth Entry

So a lot of tit has happened since I last wrote in you diary. First of all, I'm on another smurfing boat. I'm sick of these things. At least I've gotten past my fear of the water. No thanks to that Wakka jackass - he pushed me in some random ass lake that was full of pirahnas. To top it off, while I was slashing the smurf out of them trying not to die, he was still messing about with his blitzball! I'm going to smack him in his smug face. Reminds me of these nobs on a show back home in Zanarkand.

After we got to the village - Besaid apparently - I poked around and nicked some potions from a chest I found lying around. Who leaves treasure in chests these days? What a backwater place. Anyway the potions were out of date so I had some pretty nasty stomach pains. Took a nap in Wakka's hut and when I woke up he'd buggered off to some temple. Thought I'd go along. Found out they had some hot chick who like, prays or something. Better not make fun of it any more. I know what you're thinking. "No such thing as god, only god is me and I'm a god of blitz etc" but this tit was off the hook. Moments after she nearly passed out and all, this hot chick stepped out and summoned some weird big bird thing. Valefor or something she called it. I don't know but a girl who can summon giant beasts is arousing. Gonna pay more attention to this Yuna chick.

Oh yeah. So I met some dudes called the Crusaders or whatever. I don't really get what they're on about but they said it was their job to fight Sin. You remember the big stupid ugly whale, right? So turns out it just cruises around the place smashing tit up. Don't know why it bothers with islands like this though, they look too tit. At least Zanarkand was big, ya know? Oh, and so I been talking to a few people, and apparently Zanarkand was destroyed a thousand years ago. I don't know what they're smoking, must be some pretty potent cactuar if you know what I mean, but I refuse to believe that Zanarkand was wiped out entirely and I've ended up a thousand years in the future. Too smurfing weird, man! So anyway I've been telling them I got high off of Sin's toxins and I get confused sometimes and they're all buying it.

Anyway back to that chick Yuna. Seems like she's got this magical journey to get more furry monsters. Sounds hot to me. And because I told Wakka I'd play on his shitty blitz team, I get a free boat ride to some place called Luca. Anyway, conveniently, Yuna is going the same way, so I'll be able to perv a bit more. Bonus: her friend Lulu has massive tits. Better get back to sleep, we're apparently gonna end up at some place called Kilika tomorrow.

Sixth Entry

So we arrived in Kilika. Road the wave in from one of Sin's attacks. The fucking fatass whale decimated Kilika. Just like, body slammed it. The Aurochs and the Crusaders ran around to try and fix some shit but I doubt it's going to be Sin proof any time soon. That thing is an absolute monster of a monster. Saw Yuna do some weird dance. She might be Jesus, too. She was walking on water, just like that guy from that popular TV show Two Men and a Holy Ghost. It was weird and then all these fireflies started buzzing about and I think massive-tits girl Lulu tried to crack onto me. Can't be too sure.

So yeah now we're in Kilika and we're going to head up to the temple tomorrow. Should be absolutely thrilling. I hate these stupid ass temples. They're boring on the outside and retarded on the inside. Oh well. Oh and I think there's this gay merchant following me around. He seems fascinated with my clothes, but that might just be a euphemism in this crazy place. Can't say I blame him, who wouldn't want a piece of Tidus the all star player for the Zanarkand Abes? It just so happens that I'm on another fucking boat. Who'd have thought it, right? I bet this one actually gets sunk by Sin. Yevon fuck (it's a new phrase I've picked up here). But it's not all bad. I became one of Yuna's guardians! I don't think that counts as being friendzoned. I might actually have a better chance at hooking up with her now, actually. Plus, she has another furry beast; this one is called Ifrit and not only is he hot but he's also quite horny. They're puns. Ha ha.

Met the Luca Goers at the temple too. They are faggots. I'm going to take my sword with me when we play them. I will slice and dice the shit out of any Goer that looks at me the wrong way. Only I'm allowed to say the Aurochs are worse blitzers than retarded children crippled by Sin and toked up on Kilika palms. They are, but I want to make sure we goddamn win this tournament so we can show the entire world that Tidus is the very best blitzer ever. Oh yeah, that reminds me: I had some weird hallucination and learnt how to do my old man's special move. Don't know what the fuck actually happened but praise be to Yevon I guess?

Think I'm getting used to this fighting business too. Handling a sword is strange. Wakka told me handling a sword was like handling a penis - be firm but precise - but I think he was fucking with me. I made a joke about him fondling balls. If I don't wake up in the morning, it's because he's pissed at me. Anyway we left Kilika and it's not as much a complete shit hole as when we arrived, but I'm looking forward to getting somewhere with showers. I accidentally shat myself the first time Sin attacked and I haven't had a chance to wash yet.

I thought he joined the guardians not in Kilika but in Luca, as he wants to follow Auron since he is the only person who is able to explain to him what the hell is going on. Just before the laughing scene, Auron tosses him forward and tells the group that he'll come as well.
Also, that's an interesting point there, Freya. Maybe he liked being celebrated as a celebrity more than having friends because... whatever. Well, he still had Auron, his mentor.

I haven't come across any instances aside from her overdrive where analog sticks were necessary. I'm only at the point just before all of the Crusaders attack Sin and get slaughtered though. I don't think there would be any new game mechanics after that point in the game that use them though. Certainly none I can remember off the top of my head.

Eight Entry

So much tit has happened in the past couple days, you wouldn't even believe me. So we cruised into Luca right. Big place. Loads of people around. Nobody I recognised though - well, that's not true, but I'll get to that. Anyway, they were showing off all the blitz teams. Didn't recognise any of them though. Maybe I did fall through time? Weird. I hated that those jackass Goers got so much attention when they were on the same damn boat as us. So I did something about it. Caused a bit of a stir. But then everyone got distracted by some old dude called Grand Maester Mika. I was staring at his buddy though, Maester Seymour or whatever. His hair is smurfed up, I need to find his stylist and see if I can get a cool do. Anyway they're like some priests or something, I don't know. Religion in this place is weird.

So anyway, someone said they saw Auron in a cafe so I blew off Wakka and the Aurochs. Winning the cup and showing up those titty Goers is great, but finally something familiar! Yuna thought he might be able to help me find my old man too, not that I really want to. But apparently Auron and Jecht go way back, helping out Yuna's dad with defeating Sin. Great job they did of it too, it's still smurfing around blowing tit up! Anyway along the way I tried to teach Yuna how to whistle and smurf she's useless.

Blue dude Kimahri's friends showed up and they got in a bit of a scrap but then someone shouted at us and I realised the first smurfing game had started. As I was about to bugger off I noticed Yuna was AWOL. Great guardian I am, guess I'm not getting sex any time soon. We found Lulu and I almost forget about Yuna for a second staring into her erm eyes but then she said the Psyches had kidnapped Yuna! Bastards wanted the Aurochs to throw the game! I figured we'd already lost it without me in there so I wanted to just take it easy but we ended up finding her on some ship and beating up crazy weird machines and tit. Good times all around if you ask me. Oh yeah, turns out Yuna is half Al Bhed and Wakka's a fullblown racist. Gotta keep those to myself.

So yeah minutes after the Aurochs one their first match we were back in the Sphere for the championship match. I don't know what kind of smurfed up tournament system they got here in this place but Wakka was still completely knackered so he sat it out. I scored using my old man's spastic technique but the fans weren't impressed. They started chanting for Wakka. I don't know why. I just left and told him to get his crippled ass in there. We won the game still, only just, but fanfare was short because some monsters showed the smurf up. Auron turned up too, and then that Seymour dude summoned some weird bondage aeon and I was a little turned on. We took care of that, Wakka told the Aurochs not to drop the shiny smurfing trophy on the way back to Besaid, Auron joined up with us and now we're heading to a place called Mi'ihen. Oh yeah, and apparently Sin is Jecht. What the smurf. I don't know why man but all this tit just makes me want to laugh.

Since I had Labor Day off I decided to get drunk Sunday night and play FFX for several hours. I made some pretty titty customized gear with some invaluable items. Oh yes I'll use my Underdog's Spirit to add Double Overdrive to Lulu's extremely useful Silencetouch weapon.

I did manage to beat the first Blitzball game a few days ago and I'll post a pic when I have the chance to play some more. I also made it to the Djose temple. I wish I didn't have to work so I could just plow through the game already. Sitting down and only playing for an hour or so at a time is killing me.

Wakka is super bad ass now. I usually kind of stop using him after a certain point in the game. I mean he's useful enough and all, but I always end up using Auron, Lulu, and Tidus as my damage dealing trio. This time I bothered giving Wakka a bad ass weapon and boosted his strength a bit. Now his strength stat is even with Auron's, but Wakka has superior agility and evasion! Definitely a better partner to Tidus's abilities.

Mi'ihen was full of faces. For such a stupid desolate road, there were a shit load of people. Saw those Crusader dudes from Besaid. Apparently they're doing some big operation up ahead. Also met some guys called Chocobo Knights. I don't know man but something about those chocobos... I need to get one. There was this one guy who seemed to be useless and was always running behind the other two. Weirdo.

Also met some priest girl called Shelinda. Religion back home in Zanarkand doesn't like women. They're just for cooking, making babies and cheering at blitz games, aren't they? Oh well, I like a woman with a bit of spunk, and I especially like a woman who can summon magic furry monsters.

We're in this place called Rin's Travel Agency now. I wouldn't really want to travel here though. He's also an Al Bhed. I wonder why Wakka hasn't tried to kill him yet. Anyway, he's teaching me to read these random Al Bhed books I've found lying around. The language is retarded. Helly do sad wee? WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN. FUCK. I'm going outside, Yuna is watching the sunset and I reckon now's a good chance to pull a move.

It was probably easier to make him behave like a regular character during battle than to specifically keep him separate. Object oriented programming and inheritance and all of that. Plus they might have liked faking people out. "You thought he would join you? Surprise! He's actually a giant dick. You're welcome. :)"

Auroch's won. I'm actually at Guadosalam now and about to go to the Farplane.

My computer upgrade also went off without a hitch (probably the first time ever) and performance in PCSX2 is quite improved. Looking forward to playing more of that and other games now.
